Size After Surgery (for those considering an implant)

Postby IndigoFOH » Sat Jan 02, 2021 1:57 am

Hey everybody - I had a Titan implanted a little over four weeks ago. I’m still recovering, the first two weeks were really painful but ever since then recovery has been a straight line with improvement every day. I have my post-op next week to inflate it for the first time.

I am 31 and have been dealing with ED my entire life. Pills and injections never consistently worked for me, and I spent over ten years searching for a solution and coming up empty. After being diagnosed with venous leak earlier this year, I decided it was time to stop taking half measures and get an implant.

I wanted to share one experience I’ve had that I think anyone considering having an implant done would benefit from hearing. When you first get out of surgery, your dick is going to look sooo bad to you. I was devastated seeing mine in the recovery room; I felt like I had lost two inches of length, and the unfamiliar appearance of the cylinders made it look hideous to me. For the entire first two weeks I was convinced my surgeon had somehow botched the procedure; I wondered if I’d made a terrible mistake by having the surgery.

Then, a couple of things happened. First, I discovered that my corpus spongiosum was still working to engorge the glans, with very little noticeable change in appearance when aroused. This happened even without having inflated yet, and was an enormous relief for me, both physically and visually. The engorgement of the spongiosum also made the penis appear more round and normal, instead of oddly ovular and flat at the bottom.

Second, the swelling surrounding the penis went down considerably. This really makes a huge difference in your perception of its size relative to your body. Today, I am really happy with how everything looks. Having a much larger “flaccid” state is an adjustment, but also visually very satisfying. Again, I have yet to inflate the implant, but when I’ve measured it deflated with my glans engorged I’ve found that I’m only about 1/2” shorter than my previous fully erect length (which I very rarely obtained). It’s possible I will get that back just from inflating, but if not from what I’ve read I most likely will regain most of it in the first year from cycling the implant. Regardless, I will still be happy with the results even if I somehow did not gain any further length.

I have always had a ton of girth, and that seems to more or less have stayed about the same. Can’t tell for sure how big I will be able to get there until inflating, though. I will post some pictures if people are interested to show the final result once I am able to inflate.

Anyway - my advice to everyone considering an implant is don’t freak out initially like I did. It’s not gonna be pretty at first, but ultimately I think you’ll be pleased with how it turns out.

Thanx bro.
.
Very helpfull post for those who are considering.

Can still wear jeans without having a too much obvisious bulge or the penis pointing like a semi-erect?

Wish you all the best

Thank you really much for sharing, bro! Some questions:

1. Who did the surgery?
2. Why did you undergo the surgery? I mean, obviously is ED, but caused by what? (Peyronies, old age, radical prostatectomy and so on..?)
3. How much time from the surgery until you started recovering your size and penis appearance?
4. Is your new implant uncomfortable while in flaccid state?

Thanks!

So far I have not worn jeans for pain management reasons. While I’m able to do everything I need to at this point, consistent pressure on the penis still causes some pain and discomfort for the time being. This has massively improved over the past two weeks, however.

I would guess that if you like wearing skinny jeans, you’re going to have difficulty concealing the bulge. But at the same time, since it’s more or less pointing straight down in its deflated state, it really looks less like a semi-erection and more like you just have a much larger flaccid cock than you used to.

1. My procedure was performed by Dr. Joseph Gabrielson in Rochester NY. I had to see two other urologists before being referred to him, he is the only urologist in my network who performs the implant surgery. He has been outstanding; we exhausted other measures prior to deciding to go with the implant, and he was very cautious before agreeing to do it due to my age (I’m 31). Ultimately, though, he agreed that it would be the only option that would give me a mostly permanent solution.

2. I wish I knew why I had such dramatic issues with venous leak, but it’s forever going to be a mystery. From a very young age I realized that I could get but not maintain erections. By the time I was in college I was regularly taking Levitra, viagra and cialis, usually without much success. My surgeon told me that during the procedure when they tried to dilate my penis they had difficulty doing so because the mechanisms in the penis weren’t working appropriately. Eventually they were able to get it to work, but the surgeon told me he found that very validating for both me and himself as evidence I needed the procedure. He told me my issue was most likely the result of a traumatic injury or untreated infection in childhood, but that’s just a guess.

3.I had a ton of swelling in the scrotum and the pubic bone region, more than usual according to my surgeon, and that really didn’t start to look normal until I’d say about the end of the second week. I am still seeing minor improvements every day now, as the swelling in my scrotum has not yet completely abated. That process has made the penis look a lot better and given me back the majority of the length I’d felt was missing following the procedure. The spongiosum engorgement was noticeable once I got the green light to masturbate in the deflated state a little after two weeks following the procedure.

4. This is another one where it’s improved a lot as I’ve recovered. While the vast majority of my acute pain was in the scrotum the first couple of weeks (and man did it hurt a LOT), the penis had an aching sensation that was especially bad in the mornings after sleeping. Ice packs are crucially important for the first few weeks of recovery. I was given Oxycodone and was cycling NSAIDS, and none of them were nearly as effective for pain management as simply sitting in a comfortable recliner and applying ice (and sometimes heat). Now, my penis is definitely still more tender than usual, and sudden impacts to it are very unpleasant, but it’s not nearly as bad as a couple weeks ago where I couldn’t walk for more than about 5 minutes without the aching becoming overwhelming. I am back to doing everything in my normal routine now including long walks with my dog. There are definitely some adjustments you have to make; it’s unusual for me to feel the tip of my penis pressing into the bottom of my boxer briefs when leaning over, but especially with the Titan you’re at or near your full erect length in the flaccid state. Truthfully, though, I kind of like having such a large flaccid appearence; I was always a grower not a shower, now I’m very much a shower.

Here is the current flaccid appearance, I will upload an image of the erect state once I am cleared to inflate.

Indigo,
Your flaccid looks perfect. What is the length of your cylinders?
Any RTE?
Glad, your recovery is going well and you’re satisfied with the outcome.
We had surgery on same day 12.2.20.
I had my revision, Titan was removed and I received AMS CX.
Never was satisfied wit Titan.
I am already very happy with CX. Difference is like day and night.
I will be activated on 1.11.21
Wish you Happy New year and good health.

I’ll have to ask at my next appointment, I’m not sure of the specifics of the lengths of the cylinders used and whether RTEs were used.

Happy to hear you are liking the CX, and sorry you had a bad experience with the Titan. Hopefully I will be more satisfied.
