Anybody with pre-op PD experience buckling when flaccid?

Postby cgdirector » Wed Dec 30, 2020 11:08 am

Please see signature for implant type/date. 5 weeks 2 days post-op as of today. After the surgeon deflated the implant somewhat on Day 10 and after the swelling went down considerably around Day 17, I began to feel pain on both sides of penis on bottom just before the ridge of the glans (bottom but closer to the sides). Palpation in those areas revealed 2 painful "bumps". With a moderate amount of pressure, the bumps "corrected" themselves. I concluded that the cylinders were buckling in that area while deflated.

I saw the surgeon for a follow-up yesterday. He confirmed my suspicion. He stated that, while the aggressive intra-operative modeling corrected a significant portion of the PD, the residual bend upward in that area was causing the cylinders to buckle. He activated the implant and instructed me to begin cycling. With inflation, the 2 bumps did indeed decrease significantly (although not completely). And although they were much less painful, they are still painful enough to cause me concern. I was just curious if any other FTers had a similar experience and, if so, did it resolve with time?.

On a side note, the modeling left me totally numb on the right side from the base to the tip. I am having burning nerve pain and hypersensitivity in other areas not numb. Anybody experience that? Thanks for any insight!

NSFW WARNING!

Here's a picture of where the buckling is. There is an identical one on the other side (symmetrically).

This is what is referred to as dog ears in earlier posts if you want to do a search on this site. And are more common with the stiffer Titan. If you have ever taken a wrapping paper tube and bent it you will see the sharp points to each side. This happens for a number of us when we deflate and our penis bends down or any other direction. Your cause is different as PD is causing the bend. I had this a bit early on with my LGX. As time goes by the cylinders will soften and hopefully your PD will improve with cycling your Titan. The Titan is the best for helping with PD as it is the stiffest but it will take time. So if it were me I would keep up the cycling work and mark a date on the calendar a month from now and note if it has improved. Then another month after that. Reoperations (not saying you need one) are not done for 6 months from the first surgery to insure that every thing is fully healed. So that gives you an idea about how long it takes for things to adjust. Some are faster and some are slower. I had even told myself I would not judge my outcome until 1 year after my surgery. So things should improve but may be slow. Just keep up the cycling and follow your doctors orders and enjoy as much of it as you can when you can.

Thanks @Newbie443. I'll do a search using the term you described. I actually have tried to keep things in perspective with regards to the fact that it's only been a little over 5 weeks and that it will take a notable amount of time to heal/recover. Finding FrankTalk and reading the posts in the days immediately after the surgery has alleviated a number of concerns that I had but I remained deeply worried about the buckling and risk of erosion even after talking to the surgeon. Your response was a great help.

Welcome to the Brotherhood Bro.

It's still early and you are in the recovery phase, but can you tell what your overall thoughts are, besides the dog ears, at the moment?
Do you experience a lott of size-loss?
Can you conceal your implant in public?
No offence, but is your surgeon a low volume implanteer? I ask this because hé choose for a 18cm +2 rte, instead off a 20 cm implant.

Wish you much fun next year with your implant.

I had what I called a triple buckle on my right tube near the base that was very uncomfortable for weeks, it now is just one big loop when deflated after many months and no pain.
