Well crap....another flat tire.....

Postby LMCatman » Wed Dec 23, 2020 1:11 pm

Well, I've broken another one. Dr Perito thinks the bulb burst. Surgery next month. With all the "ups and downs", I've sure had fun! Wish me luck guys!

How many in how long? I've got to be honest, this forum is great and has encouraged me to get an implant. But some posts make me timid. No way I was to go under the knife 5x in 10 years. I do understand that is less than 1% of implantees and I am more likely to have 10 good years. None the less, that .5% could be me.

LMCatman,
If you are using Titan ask for the one touch pump. The classic is what a lot of doctors use, but the One Touch is made with thicker material. Several doctors refuse to use the classic because the failure rate is much higher.
My first implant in 2013 was a one touch. It failed in 2017. Doctor replaced the complete system and installed a classic pump. It failed 5 months later and had another pump replaced with the classic again. It lasted till Aug 2020. I was just implanted on Nov 3 by my new doctor, T Hakky in Atlanta.
(Atlanta Cosmetic Urology) He did a complete replacement and went back to the one touch pump. I love the one touch better than the classic.

Revisions are usually less traumatic than a virgin implantation. Besides, the Rubicon was crossed with that first one. You're committed. The time for being scared is BEFORE that first implant.

At that point, remember, knowledge is power and dispels doubt and fear very effectively
