4 month post op report

Postby jojolee » Sun Dec 20, 2020 4:24 pm

I have been quite silent on the board for awhile, but it has been extremely helpful, so I thought I ought to offer my own 4 month post op report. I had the AMS 7000 implant on August 19. In the past I had had severe peyronie's disease which was treated in a pilot injection study, which helped a lot was starting to return, to as part of the surgery the doctor also removed a lot of the remaining scar tissue. The first few days were uncomfortable, but I have been through worse. I had used trimix for years so I had lots of the light weight ice packs it ships in, which I used almost non-stop, even slept with them.
On day three when I went to have the bandages removed, even the doctor gasped at how black and blue I was. I told him not to worry. When I had an angiogram many years ago my whole thigh black and blue for a month.
After about two weeks, I was pretty much back to normal activity level wise. I was able to take take of my three grandsons (ages 3 to 9) for a whole week before school started which I do every summer.
The incision healing took awhile, and I did not start pumping until 6 weeks. Unfortunately I had a very difficult time getting used to it. The deflation was fairly easy, but I hard time pumping. The doctor really helped by giving me pointers, and over time it got easier, to the point that it is almost second nature. After sex though, I have a bit of a problem still with deflation unless I wait about half an hour.
I was always a grower not a shower, and I think I may have lost a half an inch or so in length, and gained a little in girth. It definitely looks bigger flaccid now.
The sex has been great. I was on trimix for about 10 years, and there was always a slight burning sensation. Once I injected I didn't the patience for a lot of foreplay. Now I am much more comfortable and can enjoy foreplay in the inflated state. My wife has been very pleased with the results, and my own orgasms seem to last longer and feel more intense.
We used to travel a lot, and now I don't have to worry about keeping trimix refrigerated. I always had to travel with a insulated thermos and in some exotic locales ice is not so easy to come by. As soon as COVID is over I am booking an extended trip.
All in all I am very pleased with the results. The surgery was done on Long Island, and I would definitely recommend the surgery without hesitation.

Thank you. I'm on Long Island and I'm at the beginning stages of accepting that I may need to go this route. Which Surgeon did you select and what about the loss of size that is really giving me trepidation. I know its irrelevant if you cant get it up but does your spouse have any issues with the loss? Thank you and congratulations.

Based on your location, I'm guessing that Dr. Eid in NYC will be on your short list if not the only surgeon on your list! Although my IPP surgery was done in LA, I would have definitely gone to Dr. Eid if I hadn't found a local surgeon in whom I could have total confidence.
Promise me you won't tell this to anybody else...
A majority of men who frequent the IMPLANT discussion board are either men who are considering an IPP or who have had issues, problems or concerns since their implantation. Some are on FT to learn more...some to help others...and, yes, there are a few who are on here merely to brag about/show off their new tool. So, my point is, understand that threads tend to be biased.
For instance, men who are worried about post-op size loss are more likely to be reading/posting about this concern if they have experienced size loss. The vast majority of guys who either didn't incur size loss or have regained size from routine cycling of their device are much less likely to be on this thread. In my own case, what I initially "lost" in length has been regained and surpasses my pre-op length. Because my uninflated flaccid penis now hangs nearly 2 inches more than my pre-surgical dick, to my wife's eye (and thus her lust) I'm larger than ever and definitely harder than any man with whom she ever slept could match. So, I would have to say that she doesn't have any issues.
Good luck, mate!
Implanted 5/6/20 by Dr. Jesse Mills at UCLA; AMS 700 LGX 18 cm w/2 cm RTEs. I'm 76 & fit but had ED for 20 years. Pills/injections ultimately failed, including 3 ER trips for Priapism; Shockwave & embryonic stem cell therapies didn't help either.

The surgeon was Dr. Han at Northwell. He is one of the two implant specialists at the Smith Institute. The surgery was done at Northshore in Manhasset. The hospital was great, it was outpatient and I did not feel at all awkward and the staff was very accommodating.

In terms of the length, it really is a non-issue. I was never huge to begin with, and I am actually much larger flaccid now. I think over time the erect state will also get larger. My wife is not one to fake orgasms, and I would say she is about as orgasmic now as she was before.
