It was a bit painful but I had to tolerate it to learn. He made me do that 3-4 times before sending me home. I came back and tried to inflate whole day but couldn’t due to the sore sac which was paining due to activation. So I applied some antibiotics cream and took painkiller and went to sleep.

Today I woke up (it’s 8th day since surgery) and tried inflating it up as much as I could to tolerate the discomfort in the shaft of the penis. I am getting a throbbing feeling in the shaft but I am going to keep it that way for 15mins or 30mins before I deflate. See attached photos of how my penis look like right now. My angle of erection seems to be 4 o clock, but if I lie down flat on the bed, then it is 3 o clock.

Has anyone activated their implant just a week after surgery or did your Dr ask you to wait a little bit longer before activating it?

I had my revision surgery 22 days ago with Dr.Eid, he removed my botched ams and put in a titan. He left me deflated and he activated me on day 3 but he just gave a few pumps and then he deflated me because I had too much pain. He told me that since it's a revision i can start inflation on day 14 but I can do it before if I want to. I ended up waiting until day 17 because my scrotum was too sore. Now i can inflate it but can't keep it to max because it's to painful in glans and shaft so i inflate it till i feel pain but not too much and i try to left it for 20/30 minutes. I usually do it two times a day and i hope that pain will decrease soon and to be able to inflate to max.

I went against medical advise (Dr. said 14 days in office for activation first time) and I pumped up on day 7 but only 2-3 pumps to see that it actually moved to an "erect" position while laying down. Then I deflated it again and only pumped up partially about two more times before my followup appointment at 15 days.

Thanks for the replies! That’s helpful. I’ve another important question - now that the Dr has given me okay to cycle the implant daily. My question is what should be the default state of my penis since I am one week out of surgery - should I keep it 50% inflated as default, 5-10% inflated, or should I keep it max 100% inflated as much as I can tolerate?

I am talking about the inflation stage where I feel comfortable walking, sleeping, going to washroom, etc. What should it be?

Unless your doctor gives you other specific instructions, if you are cycling now you should start deflating the implant completely after each cycling event. This will allow your body to form the pseudo-capsule around a full-sized reservoir and will help ensure that you don't get locked into a situation where you can't fully deflate in future. You want to fully deflate each time and it will take several months, maybe longer before your body had encapsulated the reservoir sufficiently to minimize (not eliminate) the risk involved in not fully deflating each time.

Hi Indusvalley,
I just noticed your sig. You live in south asia and traveled to USA for surgery? Are there no good implant surgeons in south asia, or the ones in USA are just better?

Thank you, Proctor!

Peaceofpain, yes I am from South Asia. I came to US to get implanted because I have only one penis. You see, money comes and goes, everybody in life comes and goes, but once your dick is gone due to a botched surgery by an inexperienced surgeon, you can’t bring it back. There could be many good urologists in Europe and Asia but I wanted only the best result for myself, so I came to the US.

Was it expensive compared to the standards of living of South Asia? Yes! Am I satisfied with the results? Hell yes!

I had to sell some family land to collect money and had to work twice harder to collect some more before I could arrange this trip for myself. Think about it, what’s the point of having land and stuff when you can’t even have a family due to ED? One has to be pragmatic when making such a big decision.

Wise man.

I'm south Asian who grew up in US. Getting it done overseas is not for me either. I'll choose either Hakky/Eid once I see how insurance matters are settled. However, I run a group where a couple people with severe ED have stated they can't afford a 20-30K implant, no insurance, but they need one. I'm usually hearing these stories more from people who are not in the states. For some, I tell them to work hard/smart to afford it one day. But this can be bad advice for poor people in countries that have little opportunity to make enough to afford a 20K implant. When they ask for help, their posts often have no good solution. Hate to just tell them to live with it, but maybe there are options...

I already know many great doctors in the states that are 18K and up, but it would be great to compile a list of decent doctors under 13K. I imagine the only way to find a great doctor for that much cheaper is to explore doctors in lower cost of living countries. I've heard of Dr. Rupin Shah in India has done implants for Bollywood actors. Have you heard of him and know how much he charges?

Wish you a speedy recovery. Keep us posted after you recover.
