Double Corporotomy

I was reading the surgical notes from my implant operation last week. The doctor mentioned that he had used a double corporotomy. I had never heard that term before and the doctor never mentioned it to me so I asked google. The only hit I was able to find was a link to a video on the Coloplast website made by my surgeon.

In the video, the surgeon performs a very forward corporotomy just behind where the penis and the scrotum meet. He then measures and makes a second corporotomy about 7cm from the rear tip of the crus. This is where the exit tubing will come out minimizing the amount of tubing that runs inside the corpra alongside the cylinder and keeping it as far back as possible. It also allows him to reduce the number of RTEs.

Prior to my surgery, I had watched a lot of surgery videos and had wondered several times why the doctors didn't do this. I discovered after surgery that my surgeon does.

It was also very interesting what he does with the pump. The scrotum has two pockets with one testicle living in each pocket. Most surgeons will place the pump in one pocket or the other. He creates a third pocket for the pump to keep everything separate. I've only seen one other surgeon who does this, though I can't remember which one.

I watched video from link you provided.
I can say, result is excellent and guy in the video was lacky guy.
Tubing and pump are completely concealed.

I had recently implant revision ( removal and re- implantation )
In discharge note doctor wrote that he performed IPP removal and replacement with right corporoplasty.
Waiting for operative note to se what repair he did. He mentioned to me that he needed to reinforce tunica which was severely thinned in 2 places.
