Implant Surgery Scheduled - Dr. Clavell

Postby kickit40 » Sun Dec 06, 2020 11:48 am

I have been dealing with Erectile Dysfunction and potentially Peyronie's for close to two years since I injured my penis while flaccid. I am only 38 years old but ready to get my sex life back on track.

Everything I've tired hasn't had much success and exhausted from thinking about it all the time. Been to plenty of urologist, have had three dopplers with no sign of plaque, and oral meds help somewhat. I haven't lost much size (if at all) but I now have about a 30 degree bend which from the start of the bend to the tip doesn't fully get hard enough for penetration.

I have consulted with Dr. Clavell in which I have an implant surgery schedule for December 16th. Insurance has also approved the surgery which is a big relief.

Is there any there I should be thinking about prior to surgery or need to know? I have been researching penile implants for a few months now.

I really appreciated any comments or thoughts.

I just had surgery with doctor Clavell 4 days ago (2.12.20)
I am very pleased with his work. He is excellent surgeon, good guy more like a friend.
Where are you coming from to Houston to have your surgery?
Best wishes for excellent outcome.

Bro!!!! Is this your full erection? I'm in the exact same situation as yours.. Peyronie's + ED since that, and depressing AS F*CK because of that. I'm strongly thinking about getting implant. Can you please tell me:

1) Does your glans engorge now?
2) Do VIAGRA CIALIS et al work well now for you?
3) Will you have a grafting procedure with Clavell?
4) What's the cost of the surgery+implant with CLavell? (if you wanna share..)
5) What are your size (lenght and girth) now?

thank you really much, i'll follow your post with much interest and.. GOOD LUCK BRO!
26 yo from Italy.Peyronie's disease probably since 2015.Since then, penis bends of about 20-25°. PD keeps progressing. Moderate ED since 4 years and things getting worse. From pornstar-like to depressed, but still fighting for a solution.

I got AMS CX. Previously, had Titan Coloplast which was removed 4 days ago.
Are you staying in Houston or you will be on your way back to Dallas?

Thanks for the support man.

1) I feel for the most part they engorge. Where the curve starts my penis has somewhat of a hinge effect.
2) The picture is after 20mg Cialis. It does work with helping get hard.
3) I haven't discussed grafting with Clavell, is that something you think I should investigate? I haven't had any confirmed plaque and Clavell thinks he can get back to about 5 degree curve. I've always had a congenital curve a few degrees.
4) $1,300 out of pocket because insurance is covering the rest
5) Length 6.75" - 7" Girth 5.75" - 6"

With 6.75-7.0", you might benefit from corporoplasty (also called "plication"). This will cause a little loss in length but the surgeon puts a couple of stitches in the longer side (top or dorsal side) of the tunica which prevents it from stretching as much, to compensate for the loss of elasticity in the shorter side.

You might end up with 6.0-6.5" assuming they only have to reduce the long side by 0.5-0.75". I think @Biker60 had plication surgery last year if I'm not mistaken (I maybe thinking about someone else though).

I too am interested on the ride back after surgery since I would be making the trip alone from/to Austin. Usually they caution you about driving when taking painkillers because they make you drowsy.

I read that Dr. Clavell prefers to keep you overnight to administer IV antibiotics.

Wayne - I have done some research on the plication surgery and fear I will end up with an implant anyways.

My thought is to get the implant and move on with life.
