VA Implants

Postby flyingduck2019 » Sun Dec 06, 2020 8:38 am

I have a question for veterans who have gotten implants at the VA hospitals.

Did you have a co-pay or was the total out the door charge $00.00?

I am not considering getting an implant at this time as my Trimix dose is very low and works for me. I just would like the information for future use.

You can respond on the forum or PM me.

Thanks in advance.

Mine was $0.00, no copay but then I’ve got a rating above 50%. I know the 50% mark effects pharmacy but not sure of clinic visits,ER, or inpatient stays

I’ll answer here as other Veteran may benefit from your question/questions. That said I can only comment on my care at the VA medical center and CBOC’s I go to.

The VA patient rep would be your best choice.

A couple of things I can tell you about the VA is every one seems different on the quality and access to care. My surgeon was overseen at the very least by one of the top 50 doctors.

The second is sometimes if not all you have to push about like any other insurance or PPO to get to the right specialist. They like another PPO or insurance try and keep things at the primary care level.

Keep good treatment records from both inside and out side of the VA I used private health insurance until I went or 50% rating after my last deployment and my youngest went over 26 years of age
Good luck

I had my implant done at the VA in Kernersville,NC. My primary clinic is Salisbury though. I had no copay or out of pocket cost and my rating is only 10%
49 years old. Have suffered from ED for the last 10 years. Had the AMS 700 MS installed at the Kernersville VA on 11/10/20
