Solution for burning pee sensation?

4 days is really insane. Dr Hakky said he will insert catheter during operation and take it out even before I wake up. So in my case the catheter was inside for an hour or two only. My burning sensation is getting less and less every time I pee which makes sense based on what Waynetho replied above. Hopefully by today or tomorrow, it will be completely gone. I will keep drinking water and ensure I pee regularly.

On the side note, my 50% semi-erect penis looks so nice I can’t believe it’s mine. Lol

Another thing to be aware of, if you don't drink enough water and your urine is very dark yellow rather than pale almost clear, that will further irritate the urethra and prostatic urethra. Make sure to drink at least a half gallon of water a day (2 liters). That equates to about eight 8oz glasses which is the minimum recommendation for men. Some sources I've seen state that men should drink closer to a gallon of water a day to be well hydrated. YMMV.

Roger that! Going to drink a lot of water. I am mostly taking bed rest and trying to ice myself. My issue is that when I am trying to sit up from the bed to drink water, the muscles press that reservoir area causing a bit discomfort. I have an irrational fear that it will push out the reservoir if there’s too much pressure there.

Don't worry about that. It was empty & rolled up when it was inserted. Now it has a lot of saline in it. Highly unlikely that you could create enough force to get it to pop out.

I was implanted a few days ago (Nov 30) and didn't have any urinary burning after the catheter came out. However, when I had a TURP (for enlarged prostate) four months ago, it felt like I was pissing hornets every time I had to pee. That burning lasted for several days. Quite accidently, I found that drinking milk (almond milk in my case) helped tremendously with the burning.

Gt, Good to know that I can never make the reservoir pop out. Helps ease my irrational fear. And Mike, I think you’re right, I drank milk in the morning and I think that helped me. I have peed three times since morning, first one pained a bit, second one a little less and third one didn’t pain much. I drank a lot of water throughout the day after drinking milk in the morning. Hopefully this info helps others.

Phenazopyridine is a urinary analgesic that has questionable efficacy. It will turn your urine a bright orange. You're better off drinking plenty of water. the burning should resolve in a day or two.

Available over the counter here in Australia from a Pharmacist... I'm sure you would have something similar...

Drinking a lot of water is helping me pee better. What about poop? I have an appointment tomorrow morning with the Dr when he will remove the drain and the bandage. Should I take Colace (Stool softner) and poop by tonight or should I hold it till tomorrow once drain and wrapping is off?

Colace was a waste of money for me. Even though I took it, nothing happened. I had to wait 4 days and it naturally happened.
You can take it,it might work for you.

I used a 9oz enema bulb as needed. Warm water (not hot) about 5oz or less and it will lubricate and pressurize your bowel and help you to pass all but the hardest stool with little effort.
