I Have Joined the Brotherhood

Postby mike123 » Wed Dec 02, 2020 7:13 pm

I was implanted on Monday 11/30 with a 22cm Titan. I had been dealing with progressively worsening ED for the better part of 20 years and it got to the point where I couldn't even count on injections to work.

The doc sent me home from surgery about 50% inflated with a catheter and a drain. Catheter came out yesterday and the dressing and drain were removed today. I'm still bleeding from the drain site but the doc says that will close in a day or so. I'll stay at 50% until I go back for a follow up on the 11th. For now, my erection is leading me around the house.

There hasn't been a lot pain and Motrin has reduced that to a mild discomfort. I was given a prescription for Percocet, but there hasn't been a need to use it.

I need to start pulling on the pump, but the scrotum is still too swollen to find it. Once the drain site closes, I'll explore a bit more aggressively..

The doc did a scrotoplasty to remove some excess webbing when he did the implant so my incision is about 2 inches long. He didn't give me instructions for wound care, so I guess it's time to ask Dr Google.

A stretch test before surgery showed that I was 17-18cm bone pressed with 12-13cm external. I was expecting to come out of surgery about a 5 inch erection, but I'm only 4. I don't have a floppy head and it doesn't feel like there would be room inside for bigger implant, so I don't think I was undersized. I'm very curious where that discrepancy is coming from. Hopefully, with time and cycling, I'll stretch back out to 5. The doc says that only 9cm of the 22cm implant is external to the body. The rest is inside.

Welcome!

I too received a scrotoplasty. At 6 inches I wanted as little webbing on my dick as possible.

Happy healing!

Just keep it clean and dry. Look for signs of redness or swelling. Clear drainage is probably normal.

Welcome!!! Don't worry about size right now, it is swollen and this changes everything. The advice I received was that the wound must not see water in the first week. We should not touch the wound either. If you need to take a shower, make very sure that the wound is fully protected with a waterproof plaster. 3M Tegaderm was the one I used. It comes in a number of different sizes. Ask your doctor for the wound care instructions, it is very important. I wish you a smooth recovery!

Thanks for the well wishes. They are appreciated.

A quick update for today. This was day four. There was quite a bit more discomfort today but Motrin is keeping it mostly under control. I expect things to get worse before they get better, but I'm prepared for that. As long as I keep still, there is no discomfort, but when I move around things start to hurt. I'm wearing briefs with a jockstrap over the top for support (holes cut is both to allow my member the freedom it demands).

The drain site has stopped bleeding, but with the swelling, I still haven't found the pump. It's in there somewhere. It can't hide forever.

Before surgery, I asked the doctor to put in the one touch pump, but he said he doesn't use the OTR. I don't recall if he said I would be getting the Titan pump or the Titan Touch. When I looked at the Coloplast warrantee sheet, it had the OTR checked. I'm still waiting for the surgical notes.

Welcome to the brotherhood Mike123 - better days lie ahead!

You are so early on in your recovery, I don't doubt you cant locate the pump. I had minimal swelling, but still couldn't manipulate the damn thing at least until week 3 began.

This is serious surgery - while am not trying to encourage it, I think this is one of those times when a couple strong painkillers are warranted. It may not matter in a few more days though - once you turn the corner (usually after about a week), everything starts to get much better, including any pain you may have.

My only advice is to be patient - my doctor left me completely uninflated after surgery, and I had to wait until week 4 to actually start cycling. Don't worry too much about length at this stage either - the first time I looked at little willie after surgery he looked very short ... but this too usually resolves itself with time and cycling.

Hang in there and make sure you do everything possible to avoid infection. Good times ahead.
