Titans & Airport Security

Postby Ineedaworkingdick » Fri Nov 27, 2020 2:42 pm

Hi all!

Has been a long time since I’ve logged on here (which is a credit to both this community and my surgeon!) but I thought I’d come back to share a recent experience.

Titans and airport security! Has anyone else had an... encounter with regard such? :geek:

I was passing through airports in Europe these past days for work and while I have never had issues with the standard metal detectors, I just experienced one of those large body scanners for the first time post-op.

I stand with legs apart and arms out per security’s instructions, the machine whirrs to life, they look quizzically at me and ask, ‘Have you anything in your pockets, Sir?’

I respond with a kindly, ‘No’

I turn out my pockets and again the machine whirrs. They say, ‘Are you sure, Sir?’

I say, ‘Yes’

I am asked to stand aside while an aging yet enthusiastic security guard takes it to upon himself to feel my legs and ass. He reaches my balls and Titan such that it is.

He asks, ‘Is this you?’

I say, ‘I’m pretty sure it is’

He stands and waves me on. As I collect my bag, belt, and coat I can hear him and the female guards giggling away to themselves. I quietly thank God that none of the adjacent passengers appear to understand English and go on my way.

Moral of the story? I’m not entirely sure. But suffice to say that should any of you gents be flying from Schipol Airport in Amsterdam, be prepared for what may be an interesting screening.

Usually you have to pay for that in Amsterdam.

If you pay for that, don't you usually get a more climactic ending?

The comedienne, Tig Notaro, who has had a double mastectomy, no reconstructive surgery and short hair had an experience at a TSA pat-down.

While being patted down (including the fronts of her pants) the TSA officer and supervisor became discomfited, clearly uncertain what gender she was.

Tig made quite a funny segment on her stand-up routine out of it.

Be warned, though, her humor is a bit different from your usual stand-up routine.

Hi there,

I'm from The Netherlands and flying 1 a 2 times a year from Schiphol, so thank you for the warning.
Hope you enjoyed your stay in The Netherlands.

Why you think they giggled. Was it because they felt a very large dick or was it because he felt the pump?

I'm sure of the size. During "pat downs" they don't touch you well enough to feel the pump.

There was a post on this some years back. At that time the conclusion that over a certain size would trip the scanner's. The discussion was split a bit it seems weather it was best to tell the TSA before the scan and show your card or to wait and show the card if you set off the scanner. My cards were blank and did not have stickers on them so I had to write the info on them. I do have a copy of the AMS's rep document that I can take along to support my card. Last I checked AMS only issues blank cards now. That may have changed. I do not know about Coloplast.

My flight back from my surgery almost 3 years ago was the last time I used air travel. I think I set off the machine but the guy that saw it seemed to know what it was and just waved me through. Bet he had seen it many times before. I do carry my cards in my wallet if I need them.

I'm two years post-op and flown domestically and internationally with my Titan. Except for times when the TSA or more obscure foreign airports used the older scanners, I've always been stopped and asked whether I have anything in my left front pants pocket. I "dress" left, carry the obligatory Titan wallet card (that I had to fill out), and come to expect to look back at the "spread-legged, hands above my head like an airplane director" icon on the scanner's monitor and see the yellow irregular box outlined for all to see just to the left of my crotch. I patiently and politely follow the directions and answer the questions of the TSA inspector as he runs the back of his hands down each leg as professionally as he can. I also get the gun powder residue swab test, just in case I touched my 'weapon' just before I checked my baggage. I have, on only two occasions, retrieved my wallet from the plastic tub and pulled out the Titan card for the inspector to read. The first time was on my first flight after being implanted (the TSA rep didn't care to see it) and the second time was just this month in San Antonio, Texas on our trip back home to Virginia. To date, I have always refused when asked if I wanted a pat-down in private and I've never had a female inspector pat me down but it wouldn't matter to me. They're just doing their job and I'm happy to comply. I'm more interested in flying than getting a free feel. And, anyway, my wife is always waiting for me to get through my 'ordeal' since she's never stopped...

In your Signature you say "Never do it again". Why do you regret your implant?

I get flaged by the full body scanner every time with a 24 cm AMS . I also take a pass on the private pat down to save time. Recommend US citizens join trusted traveler program so you can use the older scanners for domestic travel in US.

I worked TSA for a very short time. Hated it. From my experience they weren't giggling at you or your implant but at the agent's overboard pat down. I was a newb, completely green and got the giggling/ ribbing after my 1st bungled pat down. I quit after 3 mos. Worst job ever. I'll be sure to carry my AMS card for sure.
