Motorcycle riders question?

I am about 10 weeks out from surgery. I have not tried riding yet. Just a question for motorcycle riders. How long after surgery before you could ride comfortably? Anyone just not able to ride at all?

The other day at 4 1/2 weeks, I threw my leg over my Fatboy with every intention of riding. Very uncomfortable and I immediately hopped off. The pressure against my balls might be because I have a Mustang solo seat.or because I was still wearing a jockstrap.

I’m still not comfortable, I wouldn’t have even thought about it at 4 weeks.

Gave myself 6 weeks to heal then took my HD street Glide for a 2 hour ride.
No problem what's so ever

I currently ride a 2008 Kawasaki Concours 1400 and have no problem at all. Just give yourself time to heal properly. I wear Duluth Ball Room jeans and I do notice the pump when I first sit but no discomfort. Just a slight adjustment and I'm on my way. Did about 400 miles a few weeks ago up the Back of the Dragon and had a blast.

Nice ride. I owned a Vstrom 1000 but it killed my back. After 50 miles I was ready to throw it down and walk home, not sure why though and never got it sorted out so I sold it. My 08 Connie is a dream. The avatar pic is my old 2000 ZRX. That's the one bike I truly regret selling but it wasn't good for my wife 2 up. Here's me and my wife on our current ride

Was your Vstrom 1K the newer series or the old series? I think they changed in 14 or thereabouts. I miss riding my old Connie for the excellent weather protection it has but the Vstrom 650 is much easier on my knees. It has enough power most of the time, for solo. Definitely not a 2 up tourer for most, other than perhaps a smaller couple. Even solo it can suffer fighting high prevailing winds, but most times it's got enough. Wife has her own 09 Versys 650 to carry her... I've looked at the Vstrom 1050 and the newer Connie. I'm just afraid my days of heavy bikes might be over unless I get new knees. The larger Versys 1000 is kinda appealing. Unfortunately, none seem to have the weather protection of my old Connie. Do you find the newer Connie to feel lighter than the old style?

My Vstrom was a 2003. I loved the power of it but it killed my lower back plus it too small for my wife and I 2up. I'm 6'1 and she's 5'11 so the Vstrom was a little cramped but the Concours is awesome. If you ever get up to NC let me know, I can show you some awesome roads and scenery.
