In my current condition of getting a replacement implant on 10/2, I could golf tomorrow.

For a "virgin case" - My opinion is at about week 10 post op. I suspect may will say sooner, but the twisting of golf would make me hold off until I've hit the gym or done a few casual workouts.

It was 6 weeks before I returned to weight training & even then, I started off slowly. As for golf, I think I could have played after week 4 with a cart. Walking 9 or 18 might have been a little uncomfortable.

Try a bucket of balls at a driving range. That should give you an idea if you're ready.

It's not a hard-work sport, so after about 2 weeks you can return to golf. But I ain't a doctor and can't give professional advice. I judge only by personal experience, cause I wore a non marking shoes for tennis after the first day in the hospital (not to hurt the cover, of course) and started to play tennis only after two weeks by doctor's recommendation. It will be better to ask your doctor at first, we don't know all aspects of your health. Or don't forget to ask him before the surgery on the consultation all you are interested in.

I think I went golfing on day 10 with some slight discomfort in the shaft.
