8 days post op. How many have defied docs orders?

Postby buckster » Wed Oct 21, 2020 12:40 pm

I'm only 8 days post op. Not supposed to touch anything until after 3 week check up. Swelling is almost gone. Brusing is starting to fade. Still some tender sore spots. Not taking any pain meds. I was told I would likely be too sore to even touch myself for the first 3 weeks. Well... I have already messed around with the pump to see if I could deflate and pump back up. Is this bad? Should I leave it alone? I also tried stimulating my glans to see if I still had blood flow.

If I could give you a piece of advice, please do not touch it. It will be everything fine in few weeks. The implant needs to remain partially inflated to improve the chances to preserve the penile lenght. I am also experiencing the same anxiety. Today, it is my day seven after the operation. Patience is key to the best result. If I may say something, please follow the doc recommendations strictly.

Bulgeboy's advice is good. I followed my Surgeon's advice to the letter. However, his advice was a little less conservative than Bulgeboy's Doctor. My Doctor and I had a good, collegial relationship and he trusted my judgement after I had extensive discussions with him.

My advice: Call your Surgeon and discuss what you posted here to get the go-ahead. Absent that, call the manufacturer's Patient Liaison and get the manufacturer's view on "expanding" on your Surgeon's instructions. Also, read what other Franktalk members advise.

Lastly, remember that if you damage something to satisfy a short-term curiosity you may incur long-term dissatisfaction.

I was implanted last Monday week, 12th October, and I'm not touching a bloody thing as per my surgeon's advice. I'm still a bit sore in the scrotum and shaft. I agree with the others; follow the surgeon's advice closely!

There's a reason your doctor gives you specific instructions. I got lucky. He told me to not touch it for a full two weeks, 14 days. Normally patients have a 3 day (Eid/Perito) or 1 week (most other doctors) but I started lightly pumping to see it grow on day 7. I made sure I could deflate before testing it. I did this only a couple or three times then left it alone until my appointment on day 15. I found out 3-4 months later why he wanted me to leave it alone for a full two weeks... My right corpus cavernosum had so much fibrosis in it proximally that he had to extend the corporotomy very proximally to clean out the scar tissue just to be able to mount the rear tip. Then he stitched up the entire extended length of the incision.

The delay in activation was no doubt due to the excessive right corporotomy incision that needed longer to heal with enough strength to support the implant's rear tip. Had I pumped to max on day 7, I might have dropped that cylinder into my scrotum and been at the ER by the afternoon and getting a revision or re-install by the next day.

Be careful if you choose to violate the rules! It can have serious consequences.

Great to hear from you! I am also recovering well. Scrotum swelling is now almost gone. I have felt only very mild pain so far. I am still taking naproxen to keep the swelling at bay. I could see the pump outline the first time yesterday. It seems that it is all in the correct place (between the testicles). I wish you well and a smooth recovery too! Take care.

Thanks for all the great advice. Just leaving things alone now. Healing is going well. Just some itchy poking pulling feelings. Nothing that needs a pain reliever.

Thanks Bulgeboy, I see my surgeon for a follow up consultation next Tuesday, so I'll see what he says. How long has it been since your implant?

Hi,
I got my implant on Oct 14, 2020. It has been 10 days since the operation. It is healing well. The stitches are fading away. I will have my next follow up appointment on Tuesday too. I am feeling very well and anxious to see how the implant works. The last days, I stayed most of the time isolated at home because the covid-19 plague is again hitting London too badly. So it is a bit difficult for me to keep away from my half inflated penis while I am isolated at home, but I am keeping the hands off   Stay well, you too. Cheers, Bulgeboy

@AussieFarmer65, was your operation penoscrotal (cut in the scrotum) or infrapubic (cut above pubic bone)?

I thought all the Australian surgeon's use infrapubic as far as I have read, I suspect because the Australasian society are very conservative regarding infection rate.
