Do you have any more information on this technique?

This is one article which describes spontaneous tumescence in patients implanted with malleable (not inflatable) penile implants.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30773500/

There is another article which I will link to when I find it again. It refers to the same phenomenon exhibited in men with inflatable implants.

I make reference to it in a post in this thread. There may be a link in the thread. But the title of the thread clearly states the point.

I am glad I had my Doppler as it was to find out the extent of my scarring. It revealed extensive calcification and that it had even grew in between my corpora.

According to the mayo clinic reports from this year "while a lot is not known about causes of peyronies it is thought to be caused by repeated injury to the penis".

This could be caused during sex. There are lots of stories here and other places of that happening. By accident. Once it is injured, plaque and scar tissue form causing curvature and all kinds of other issues.

I guess an immune issue could possibly cause it as well but saying that is what causes peyronies alone is not what is posted by the medical profession. Most stories I read about trace back to injury, mine included.

So sex while taking viagra and never getting a fully hard erection but still thrusting hard can cause bending and trauma to the penis causing peyronies, plaque and a whole variety of issues.

There are also plenty of men stating they caused themselves to develop hard plaque deposits with injections. Again, back to trauma to the penis causing peyronies. If sticking a needle in your dick is not trauma I am not sure what is. Some have even gotten it after getting the injections that are supposed to help treat it.

Just me but if my urologist told me peyronies was caused solely by an immune condition, I would find me a new urologist. Web health, WebMD, mayo clinic, a ton of other medical sites list injury as probable main cause of peyronies. Oh yeah, the peyronies specialist I saw told me the repeated bending of the penis going in and out of of my partner being only semi hard was probably the culprit. Again i only got probably, pinning a doc down to specifics is really hard.

Gene factors could also be involved if you are prone to diseases causing plaque in other parts of body such as hands and feet. So lots of causes.

I listened to my first urologist who said I was just old. Falling on my nuts does not cause ed. I am just old. Take the viagra without any type of test. Like I said, took the stuff, had sex, felt itbend real bad, few weeks later it starts looking wierd and hard lump shows up. Went back to same guy. Tells me no big deal, take vit e. It will probably go away on it's own. Still bitter toward that guy.

Never in my life ever heard of peyronies several years ago. Now it's on all the channels. Learn about the damn curve.

Got worse, worse, 7 inch erection to 5 over 18 months. Curved around till it pointed to my belly button. First uro still saying no big deal. Take more vit e. Then I saw new urologist. Then another. Amazing how much some of them do not know.

Found specialist, doppler, injections not working either, then fairly quick to implant. Again. If I had Known that first month. Right away to implant I would have gone.

I literally just got back from my last Uro appt. a couple hours ago. He said it can be done to try and confirm what's causing my ED, but does it really matter? If it's not working, it's not working. Does it really matter why? The only time he'd recommend it was if there was some type of injury and there was the possibility of some sort of physical damage that could be fixed with surgery.

My experience with this seems to be insurance related. My insurance does not cover the treatment of ED in that it does not cover medications or devices. They also do not cover any testing. They do cover implant after oral and injection medications fail. I my case testing and an in office injection would have made me 100% authorized for implant. But would have cost the insurance company money. So I was required to pay out of pocket for treatments that my doctors and I knew would not work and spend months doing so. I would think some men either can't afford or do not complete treatment to fulfill the requirements for insurance to pay for implant surgery and this also saves the insurance company money. I was not given an option for paying out of pocket for testing to put me in the fast lane for implant. The cost of oral medications and injections most likely were close the the cost of the tests but where I live the insurance companies have enough control of medical workers to prevent this. If the test will qualify you for implant surgery with the insurance company it may be cost effective and time saving. But you would need to make sure first that test will be accepted. Other wise it is just another expense and you will still be required to wait and go through the treatments. Insurance company's are for profit businesses and so they are expected by shareholders to maximize profits. Just the way of things where I live. Good luck and best of luck going forward with this.
