17+cm Titan vs LGX

Postby ViaSwiss » Fri Sep 11, 2020 2:54 pm

I've read a few doctors quoted as saying 17+cm they prefer Titan.

Has anyone who was 17+cm done LGX and had no issues?

I have an LGX 18+3 and no issues. But, then, I have never had a Titan, so I lack a basis for comparison.

There is an ex-vivo study of resistance to bending and buckling cited in other posts that indicate the Titan is superior at all lengths because the material it is made of is stiffer even when uninflated. This superior stiffness becomes less significant as the implants are inflated, but never goes completely away at equal inflation pressures. (i.e. at 20 psi, the titan is still marginally stiffer than the AMS devices, but if you inflate the AMS to 20 and the Titan to 15, the result is different - this begs the question of what inflation pressures are typically used in-vivo.)

It remains a fact that physics tells us the plain fact that a column of requires greater diameter/thickness to resist buckling and bending the longer it is and the Coloplast Titans are manufactured to be larger diameters than the AMS devices. So, it makes perfect sense that a longer implant favors the Coloplast devices. Also, they are preferred if penile straightening is required (for Peyronies' disease etc) the Coloplast is often preferred. And sometimes the AMS CX over the AMS LGX as well.

Well, I have a Titan Legacy, 20 cm. Implanted in March of this year. Still healing here, but fucker has not warmed up to body temperature and it still feels like moving a stiff rod out of my pants whenever I piss at work.

I think you mean 17 visible but, I’m not sure so, I’m going to give you the answer my doctor gave me two weeks ago while discussing implant choices… he said his most implanted device is an 18 cm LGX… at that or below that with no rear tips, he will install the LGX… he tries to use as little rear tips as possible but feels the Titan is only necessary above 20 cm… he allows those two extra centimeters of rear tips on a smaller titan to be safe… also, he mentioned the fact that titan has more choices in size so, instead of having 6 1/2 or 7 cm that don’t inflate with an 18 cm LGX and two rear tips, he’d rather install the 20 cm titan that only has 5 cm or so that will be non-inflatable. He is also not opposed to the CX again, he watches the rear tips… he straight up told me that with my anatomy, the LG ex was a giant waste of time and if he thought my immunosuppression was an issue, he would have gone with the CX any day… I really hope this is an all irrelevant and kind of helps LOL… Be well!

Using a "best guess of penis length" for a 17cm implant. I come up with a penis length of only 4 1/2". That is a long ways from a huge dick. I think that the Titan might be better on bigger dicks but 4 1/2" isn't big in my opinion.
Again, only an opinion. At 17cm I'd be more interested in avoiding RTE "if" possible. The base of implants are solid & I doubt that portion has the ability to expand in length or girth.
The reality of all this is there are just some penis lengths that might be a challenge to fit correctly. Finding a surgeon that can make the best decisions in surgery is the real trick. Not which brand of implant that he uses at an "average" penis size.
If you're trying to be as close to what you was pre ED. Are of medium length. I think that Titan might not be your best implant.
Sorry ViaSwiss, I didn't really answer your question. Just some thoughts on this "doctors prefer Titan over" idea.
A good subject. Maybe we should poll the members that have the shortest Titan length for their happyness? That might be more revealing.

Keep in mind that not everyone has the typical 2:1 distal to proximal length so the 17 cm mentioned could actually refer to entire implant length and still equate to a decent penile length too. In my situation, I have a 15 cm implant and NOTHING ELSE, but my length is slightly over 15 cm when hard pressed to my pubic bone.

Sounds impossible but it's true. The implant *BARELY* goes up to the underside of my pubic bone but it works and isn't too badly hinged. I have no more hinge than I had in the 90s before ED set in (based on an old masturbation video I recorded back then). I have a very short crus (insanely, impossibly short).

So it's possible for someone with a 17 cm titan to be 6.5" or so (it's rare but possible).

19 cm titan. No issues. 20 cm lgx 700. No issues. Love them both for the same reason. Hard dick when pumped.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
