Hi,
Yesterday I had the surgery by Dr Krame. I am still at hospital. My question is, rightnow I am in a partial inflated state. I have to return home on Monday. By that time, if I dont deflate it, I would look weird at airport. Should I deflate it by then, or I should wait as long as I can?
Also when you peed for the first time, is it natural to see bit blood on your piss.?
Thank.
When do first deflate?

Doctors vary and your doctor will tell you when and when to start cycling.

Dr Kramer told me its upto me, when I can I should. But is there any too early too late scenario?

Re: When do first deflate?
Definitely more of a question for your doctor...But I'd say as long as you are capable of both deflating and inflating the device, and able to regularly inflate, you should be alright. I think what you don't want is to deflate this early and stay that way for like...multiple weeks. I think that would set you up for a really bad time inflating again.

This thread has a link to an interesting article I mentioned in my post in the thread. Upshot is that early activation is good, but limited by discomfort of the patient (absent any surgical contraindications - such contraindications, if there were any, Dr. Kramer would have mentioned to you for sure.)

Re: When do first deflate?
I am concerned about Dr response of "when you can you should", you are fresh out of surgery and healing as just begun, I would think there is a danger to deflating then inflating too much later. Especially since it sounds like you traveled for surgery, and he isn't going to be able to exam you.
Everyone has to do what's right for them, but I am a firm believer in having local surgeon to make post op follow up easier. I saw my surgeon, 4 times in the 15 days post op. It was reassuring to be able to have him exam me and answer my questions. Due to covid regulations I had to go home the day of surgery, and then go into the office the next two days for catheter and drain removal. Then 1 week post op visit and 2 week post of visit to start cycling.
