Surgery date

Postby Masonjames » Tue Jul 14, 2020 5:27 pm

Hi guys

I saw Dr. Hakky on the 8th of June to discuss my impotence and to find out what was causing it. After a sonogram of my penis it was determined that i had poor blood flow to the penis plus venous leakage. After he did his exam he told me I was an excellent candidate for an Implant. No scarring and good stretch to the penis.
Have been waiting for an appointment since. Today I got a notice that it would be on September the 1st and 12:30. I am both excited and a little scared, to be honest. Anyone else feel apprehensive after getting your surgical confirmation?

Yes of course, I think we all do. It suddenly becomes a reality. Felt that way until the morning of. Now I’m glad I had it done and only wish I had not waited to get it.
Good luck, you’ll be fine. Welcome to the club!

I felt almost no anxiety about having the procedure. After much research and vetting my surgeon, I never had the "OMG, What did I do to myself?" moment commonly (almost universally) reported here.

Knowledge is power and has a great ability to dispel doubt and fear.

I knew there was virtually nothing to lose and a lot to gain by going ahead with an implant. By the time surgery was decided on, the only doubt was what kind and what would be the date.

Good luck.

Thanks lostsheep. I did my research and went into his office prepared, as a matter of fact he said he wished every man would be that prepared LOL. I know it will be worth it and that the impotence isn't going to get better at almost 1 years old. Just reality setting in. I will be fine.

Hey my soon to be bionic bro! I too was scared to death wondering if I was doing the right thing by having an implant. Everyone responds differently to this surgery. When I woke up in the recovery room, the ONLY pain I had was a headache from the anesthesia. I kept waiting for all hell to break loose with regard to pain in my penis but it thankfully never did! I was dismissed after an overnight stay in hospital. I went home with a drain only for two days because I take blood thinner and it was removed the following Monday morning. I healed for six weeks and returned to my surgeons office and was cleared for action. That was six months ago and I am so glad I made the decision for the implant. I have regained the sizing I lost with surgery and pump everyday. Best sex I have ever had in my life and my wife will tell you there is nothing like a bionic man! Best of luck to you and feel free to ask any questions you may have about the surgery or after. I am an open book. For me the surgery was not worth worrying about because I virtually had zero pain. How can I explain it, I can’t? The surgeon just said everybody responds differently. You will be fine and don’t worry talk to me if you have further questions as I am delighted to help you if I can!

Thank you for sharing your experience.
As the date gets closer and I have some function normally left..the question gets blurry.

Thanks for your reassurance. Good to hear such a positive review of an implant. I sure hope I have a similar experience. Dr. Hakky didn't seem to think there would be anything unusual about the surgery. He said everything looked good and that he wouldn't be needed any specialized surgical tools for me.
Thanks for the offer of talking to you about anything and I will probably be doing just that.

Well Congrats Masonjames! You'll love it once you heal.
Good thing you've been hanging around FT so you KNOW the questions that were needed to be asked. Sounds like you picked a good doc too. Keep us posted on progress!

Like the rest of us, 6 months from now you will be saying "geez, I should have had this done years ago.
