Wish I would have discovered this forum sooner

Hi all,
I’m 7 days out from my implant date. ED is something I’ve struggled with for the past 10 years. No one understands the negative impact not only physically but mentally other than those that suffer with it. I’m in a relationship with an amazing understanding woman but it kills me not being able to do what I have urges to do.
I researched everything but didn’t stumble upon this site until today nd I must say I wish I had sooner. It would have given me a much better picture of the recovery process.
I would say I’m where I should be 7 days out after hearing other stories. Extremely sore, most bruising and swelling gone. I admit I didn’t think it would be this painful or at least I though I could tolerate it better. Trying to slowly get around with a constant rock hard penis is something I didn’t anticipate. Nut stack is extremely sore and it seems like I can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know I have to be patient but I can’t wait for this to be behind me and I can be functional again.

Bx, you are not the only one that regrets not finding this place in time BEFORE you went under the knife.
After reading FT, I will say I went into surgery blind. I did not ask my surgeon the right questions, did not look at his record, etc, and I feel dumb about the whole thing. If I knew then what I know now, things may have turned out differently, as in picking the right surgeon, asking right questions, hints on healing (like wearing a baby sock), etc.
I thought I did my research, but it was all professional, not from guys that actually went through surgery.

Oh yea, you're gonna be sore for a while. It took me almost 5 months to feel close to normal after my implant. And just like you, wish I had found FT a lot sooner. I found it 5 months after going under the knife.
I just trusted the surgeon. Stupid me. Didn't know what questions to ask.

Sorry that you had such limited info going into surgery. I had researched IPP surgery for several years. I've seen many of the videos online posted by the prominent NY and Miami surgeons. I discussed in detail with my doctor many things before surgery. He was recommended, but I knew that he didn't handle the volume of the nationally known doctors, although I knew from "interviewing" him that he was on the cutting edge. I take Plavix and aspirin, but was only on aspirin (that's enough) for surgery. I can tell you that I was surprised by the swelling and black and blue color of EVERYTHING, but my surgical notes stated that I did not bleed and everything was normal and that I tolerated the procedure well. The surgical time was 26 minutes from incision to close. So, he knew what he was doing. I thought that I was well prepared for everything but was still surprised at the bruising and swelling. So don't feel bad. Also, I had read that you "feel" the implant early on as you get used to it. Well, I can say that I have never "felt" the device. My fingers can feel the pump and I can feel the cylinders when I touch myself because they are not fully inflated, and I have never felt the reservoir. I cannot even tell where it is supposed to be although I think the surgical notes said it was on my left side of that area where they put it. In my case the swelling had subsided by about the 6th day and yesterday (day nine) my color was virtually normal. I haven't taken pain medication since the morning after. I have taken an occasional Tylenol. I am very happy. I can easily feel the pump features and therefore am 100% confident of the operation of the implant when the Doc allows it. He did leave my implant only partially inflated. Easy to keep up or down with two pair of good fitting briefs on. Today I am very happy with where this is quickly heading. You will be very happy as well. Everybody heals on their own timetable.

I know it's hard to hear, "be patient" when you're hurting and wondering if you did the right thing. It's a process and it may be weeks or even months until you are fully functional and happy with your decision.

Right now, frozen peas are your friend. It has taken me 8 months, but I think I have had an exceptionally slow recovery process. It's a traumatic surgery (you tube videos are hair-raising), so it's not surprising that recovery times are all over the place.

Follow doctor's orders, cycle religiously when given the go-ahead, and be patient (I KNOW!)

Try not to worry about length and girth right now.

Hang in there. It has only been a week.

best regards
Ken

You say you have a rock hard penis. Did your doc leave you 80-90% pumped up during healing? Most docs DON'T, but mine did and it is a painful healing process. If he did, ask if it can be reduced some. I endured it for the full 4 weeks. Penis sticking straight out. I mean, straight out at 3oclock and not just plump. I had some pain meds stashed after a back surgery that got me through.

Update:
Just had a follow up with the doc 8 days out. He left it 60% inflated after surgery. I told him that was leaving me with the most discomfort and he was pleased with how everything looked so he asked me did I want him to try to deflate it some to be more comfortable I said sure. Wow big mistake as that hurt like hell. Felt like he was squeezing one of my nuts instead of the pump. . I had to stop him and he wasn’t able to deflate it any. He said we would try again next week.
Lying down on my back I have no pain at all it’s just the discomfort of moving around that’s causing me issues now. Ice packs and warm baths are my best friends right now.
Trying not to worry about size right now I’m just happy to feel a hard on for the first time in years.
Overall he said it Looks like I’m ahead of the game a little on the healing process. No more bruising or swelling at all. Just the fact of walking around with a constant erection while getting used to my third nut are my issues now

Oh yea, those first few weeks are a killer. You got new equipment in your body, and it's in a very very tender area.
Hot baths were my friend. A baby sock over my penis helped. Aspercream was a miracle drug to ease the pain on my shaft, but make sure the incision is healed before you try that. And got to wash it off before sex.
Hang in there.
