"SQUISH" sound when inflating/deflating - Is it normal?

Postby Waynetho » Fri Jun 19, 2020 10:33 am

I'm almost 8 months since implantation, on 10/28/2019. I've noticed recently (maybe in the past couple of months) there is a slight "SQUISH" sound occasionally in the pump when inflating and sometimes right after releasing the pressure there's a loud "SQUISH" sound.

Knowing a little about fluid dynamics, I know that is the sound of air going through the valve along with the liquid. I have not noticed any loss of pressure or a change in the pump's functionality. I've only noticed that besides the "BUZZZZZZ" I also hear the squish sound.

Is this something that is normal? I imagine it's normal to have a few air-bubbles in the system. I'm just concerned that I didn't notice them for the first 5-6 months but now everytime I pump and deflate I hear them.

Yes it quite normal when deflating that's the liquid leaving the penis going back into the reservoir. You will also hear a click and another click when inflating and deflating.

I would imagine it is since I have the same thing going on since I started pumping.
It feels a little bit awkward, but you get used to it.
When I pump, I an actually hear and feel the saline going into chambers.
I pump in short pumping action on bulb, according to the Dr. So far, I am up to 30 pumps, with 30 just being eeked out (can barely squeeze bulb).

When release time comes, the feeling is something that I don't think I will ever get used to. I hold my dick head, squeeze valves, and feel the saline going back to reservoir. BUT when I have to do the extra squeezing to get saline out and dick tucked away, that is just weird. I feel this crinkling going on and feels like something is going to break (this is as I go lower and start squeezing base and bending dick).

Since you mention there are two different sounds, I wonder if there is more to the story than the usual (normal) vibration/buzz of deflation. If I were you, I might mention it to the manufacturer's Patient Liaison (PL) or my surgeon. The PL often has more intimate knowledge of the device's operation and anomalies than the surgeon.

Apparently Jamie at BS Patient Liaison department is a "Take a number and wait" prospect. I've never dealt with the PL before - Has anyone ever gotten a live human on the first call? I had to leave a callback number.

Just read a post from another thread, GT1956 made the reference to air migrating to the cylinders that was originally in the reservoir.

That makes me think, if I had a few bubbles of air in my reservoir from day-1 and through the angle my body was in while pumping, some of it made its way to my cylinders (pumping on my back, for instance), that could account for the squish sound.

Now to try pointing things (implant, penis, body, pump, etc) in a semi face-downward position when deflating - maybe the air in the system can once again make it to the top of my reservoir and be heard from never again. I may try this face-down deflation attempt this weekend to see if it gets rid of the sound when inflating and deflating.

Mine does the squishing sound when inflating. It sometimes does the "vibrating" while inflating. It's usually when my favorite girl is pumping me up and when I hear that sound, it seems it is not actually inflating....

Waynetho....face down? I am trying to imagine that position and that would very awkward.
All I can picture is lying face down on bed.

My pump quacks like a duck when I inflate. When I deflate I get a buzzing sensation that is nice to me, lets me know it's draining. I don't like to deflate all the way due to the "crinkly" sensation either, I always stay a little pumped, I have a bulge ether way so might as well be comfortable.

Mine has had the buzz sound all along. That now still occurs but on occasion I also hear another sound, apparently one of air-bubbles rushing through the tubing. That is the "SQUISH" sound I'm referring to. It reminds me of the sound a garden hose makes when it's turned on after sitting out in the yard a couple of days - that "air-bubble" sound.
