Getting Ready For My Implant! Any Advice or Suggestions?

Postby anotherguy » Tue Jun 16, 2020 8:36 pm

Hi everyone, I'm scheduled to get an implant by Dr. Andrew Kramer in about a month and I'm located in Dallas, Texas.

I'll be flying and I've never flown and would appreciated any advice and/or suggestions.

Thanks

Advice on flying? What to expect after operation (you have to give us details)? supplies?
This has been covered on here in various ways. You may find other things you need by reading, aside from what you get from your posting. Also may get a few ideas that you never thought of before.

Make sure to bring your CC with you. Buy a bag of peas, and probably some frozen dinners. That bag of peas will be your friend after surgery (at least for a couple days). Good luck.

Thanks for replying.

I've read some other posts and am going to read all other posts that I can find here.

I'll listen to advice anything from flying, staying in Baltimore, to the process of getting the implant, anything related to this basically.

I've read about the bag of peas and will be sure to have enough food. What do you mean by "CC"?

For your return trip, talk to the airlines about having a wheelchair.

When I did not want to have to deal with luggage, I simply mailed my clothes to my destination (my Brother's house) and all I had to deal with was one carry-on bag with toiletries and snacks.

A portable urinal is handy for urinating. Some men find it difficult to aim after surgery, though public restrooms have urinals that might make it easier.

Yes, as you stated. READ Read read old posts. There are several threads discussing what to bring, what to ask and helpful tips.

As for staying in B'more...Dr. kramer is in the B'more area, not B'more. He works at Chesapeake Urology in the Hanover, Md. office. I live here, so can't help you in the hotel department.

CC- Credit card.
you will probably get a lot of Take out too.

Thanks Agfa13, yea, I'll be sure to take my credit card and I do know that he's located in Hanover, Maryland. I'm barely going to start learning more about the area.

I know that his office has a "concierge" service and I'll listen to what they have to say also.

I'd schedule your flight home asap after surgery, and ask for a wheelchair and help. Maybe if you have a cute someone pushing you the story of your surgery could come in handy, LOL :D

When I was considering flying, I found fairly good rate for ?? class on the return trip. Not first class but had larger recliner seating. ? American air lines, I think. Look in to it.

On the other hand. It could be some delinquent kid working off his community service hours. If that happens, pretend you're mute.
