Implant Activation

Postby will1948 » Mon May 25, 2020 9:41 am

Had my implant exactly 2 weeks ago and still a little sore. 4 more weeks until follow up appointment. What exactly is activation? Is it as simple as the Dr. saying “ok, you are good to go”.

Your right! My doctor examined me after six weeks and determined I was fit for action. He said go home and enjoy your new toy. The next day we pumped up my new toy and have been enjoying it ever since. I had my implant surgery January 9, 2020. No slip ups or complications. Sex has gotten better by the day ever since. I must say I was a little anxious at first since I had never used my new toy but now it’s a part of me. I wish you the best and feel free to ask any questions you might have. This is how I give back for those guys that helped me. This is a great forum! Good luck my bionic brother!

There may be two different definitions to "Activation" depending on the doctor.

Typically it means being released to start cycling (inflating and deflating implant several times a day), usually with a later date set for first sexual use.

With some doctors, it may mean being released to inflate have sex again.

In my particular case cycling per say was never discussed. The MD only said to inflate once or twice daily and that I was ready to start having sex. My surgery was in January and I have never had a problem. I’m sure every doctor has his own philosophy. I am very happy with my surgery and the outcome. No more shots or pills. I would highly recommend an implant!

It really depends on your personal healing process. Once you start inflating, you will get a sense of what you are capable of. Masturbation, for me, was much easier than attempting penetration. Some guys just dive in without a problem. Others, like me, take months to fully heal.

Surgeons have different ways/timings. My first implant, the surgeon pumped me up and asked me to start cycling 3 weeks after the surgery. For my revision, Dr. Karpman told me to sit in the bathtub and start cycling 3 days after surgery and it is going well since. I'll just follow what your surgeon says as he is the one who would know if you've healed enough for cycling and using the implant.
