I’m scheduled for implant surgery May 22 with Dr. Tajkarimi.
What is a realistic recovery time?
In your experience, how quickly can I return to work?
Anything I should consider during recovery?
What am I missing.
Thanks in advance.

In my case, in my first surgery, it took me a week to be able to sit straight and the second surgery in unfolding in a similar way.

In a nutshell, I recommend taking a day off for the surgery, 2 days laying down, then 3 to 4 days working from home so you could lay down when you need to. After a week or so, you should be able to drive

I was off for two weeks but I was driving within 2-3 days, albeit uncomfortably. I was grocery shopping and disobeying my doctor's 5 lb lift orders for carrying in groceries within 5 days.

I was also disobeying my doctor's "two weeks before activation" orders at day 7 when I inflated several times to about 60-70%.

I had the luxury of being to just do nothing for a week. Ice, ice, and more ice for the swelling. I was driving in 3 days and was uncomfortable for about 2 weeks. Your sac will get used to it's new friend. My wife now calls them the "triplets." Get a good jock strap and some baby socks to cover the head with. It will be super sensitive for weeks and months to come. I was able to self pleasure at 2 weeks, and had slow, slippery sex at 4. Be patient. Cycle daily. Cycle till it hurts, then pump some more.Recovery takes time. Dr. Taj is a great surgeon and his office staff can answer all your questions. I'm 8 months out and wishing I'd done this 10 years ago.
Implanted September 2019, AMS CX 18cm, 1 rte. 5" 1/2" flacid, 6"" pumped. Dr Tajkarimi, Landstowne (Reston) VA

I would take a week off, maybe two if you're in a lot of discomfort. I was bowling on my league at 2.5 weeks with a tight jock.

Masturbation will happen faster than penetration, in my opinion. Everyone heals at different rates, so penetration may be painful for weeks or months. Be patient. That's hard to hear when you want to get in there. Dont be afraid to push the limit, esp when cycling.

If you've watched the procedure on you tube, you won't wonder why this is a traumatic procedure that requires healing time.

As 544kenmatt said, I was masturbating before I was allowed to inflate. Sometime between 5 days and 8 days I masturbated to orgasm without inflation. In case you weren't aware, orgasm doesn't require erection for it to take place.
