Pump location; low riding pump

Postby Kurt0726 » Tue May 05, 2020 7:29 pm

Okay guys I hear a lot of complaints about high riding pumps but is anyone experiencing the opposite? I had a revision surgery 2 months ago and since then I feel like my pump may be lower than it should be. The pump is below my testicles, resting with the ball facing forward at the bottom of my sac. The cords attached to the pump bend at 90 degrees towards the back of my scrotum. I see computer graphics online where the pump is hanging freely between the balls. Paul perito did my implant so I'm sure the pump is where its supposed to be it just seems a lot lower that what I see online.
*side note, I can easily access all of the components of the pump so no problems there. It just seems lower, with some extra cording behind the pump, than it is in pictures and graphics and stuff. Thanks

Mine hangs down to the bottom of my sac. Feels like a third testicle. Sitting on it for a long time will make me sore. But it works like it should, the lines are only curved slightly to fit in where I guess it is supposed to be. At two months out from the implant my sac was still so swollen the pump was hard to manipulate.

Because of an infection, Dr. inserted mine a little lower.
Got implant in March. Virtual visit he told me to pull pump forward, then up.
See him 4/7 for an actual visit, maybe he will pump me and I can start pumping myself because the 'forward/up' thing, I think, may do something unintended, like needing another revision (I am not an ATM $$$)

You mean 5/7, right? I think you've lost a month as a result of your forced confinement... :P

Mine rides low and now at two years I don’t even notice it. It did take time for everything to settle down and for me to adjust. I am even back to riding a sport motorcycle with no issues. Best of luck.

Yes, 5/7....smartass.
Yeah, have to admit, this confinement is starting to wear on me, but I am good now. Just saw Dr. Sklar, it was good to actually have seen him physically to tell me what i was doing wrong. The 'uncomfortable' feeling I was having had to do with me piling more skin over my valves (bunching skin over, instead of having that single layer over valves).
He recommends pumping up, holding for 10 min, 2X per day, more if I can

Somehow I missed this one. Mine road very low and would twist side ways or even 180 degrees some times. But I had a hydrocele many years ago and had the lining for my left testicle surgically removed. My scrotum is huge and went from my butt hole to my glans. I had a scrotoplasty with my first. I had a repair 2 weeks ago and my left cylinder was removed to patch a perforation and re-implanted. They did a lot of pushing on my reservoir during the surgery and no the re-implanted pump is much higher. I kind of miss the low hanging pump as I could easily move it around and up front to grab the lines at the valve block to operate. I did form a callus on the bottom of my scrotum where is used to set. It did hang lower than my right testicle quite a bit and even a little bit than my left testicle. Every once in a while it did take a bit to move it around and untwist it to use it. Most of the time the extra tubing was great for being able to move the pump forward to operate. I am starting to pull down on it now as instructed yesterday at my 2 week check up. So I was like the OP on this until 2 weeks ago. It should be fine when you adjust to it and will as you and I said give you great access to operate it. Happy days ahead for sure.
