Preservation of Length

Postby NJ Fred » Fri Apr 17, 2020 7:23 am

Gentlemen,

It is now clear (based on my Urologist) that I am a candidate for revision once the elective surgery prohibitions in NJ are lifted. I was originally done on January 29th of this year but have incurred several problems. I still find it virtually impossible to inflate. Based on what I've told him and a hands-on exam just last week, it appears my AMS is partially auto-inflating and/ or might have a leak.

That aside, my biggest disappointment was that I seem to have lost about 1" in length. I was never well-hung making this a handicap; not what I bargained for. I find myself (the two times MD pumped it up) with just over 3" and what the hell can I do with that?

What device has a time-tested reputation for preserving length (damn the girth)? Or, is it a matter of surgical skill or just lady luck? If I am going to have to endure a "rerun," I want to stack the cards in my favor.

Your advice is most appreciated.

Geez Fred, sorry to hear you have to do it over. Think my urologist changed to the Coloplast because of failures with the AMS. Anyway with the Coloplast I am 4" when flaccid. Have not measured myself when erect since the surgery but I know I have lost some length. (the wife says so)
Let us know how things go.

Thanks, Old Guy. I used to be a tad over 5" when erect; prior to ED entering my life.

While I am not popping champagne over doing an "instant replay" via revision surgery, I had a candid dialog with the NJ Urologist making him acutely aware of my heartbreak over the new, downsized length. He made no guarantees (no legit MD does), but I was impressed with his sincerity that he will do all possible to afford me greater length.

And so it goes...

No experience with implants here but from what I've read on FT once your revision is complete over the next several months you will slowly regain your length. Also, I saw something on the President's plan to reopen businesses that mentioned elective surgeries can restart next month. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

I think you are living our collective greatest fears. Over the months I've come to realize that had I been born with 3 1/2 inches I would be completely happy. It's the sudden loss that's distressing.
I already know that your doctor would be adamantly opposed to this suggestion but at this point you're already broken so what's to lose?
Buy a cheap 20 dollar vacuum device on Amazon and start using it at least twice daily or more if possible. Get comfortable pressure for about 4 minutes then go to maximum for up to 1 minute. Trust me you will be counting down the seconds till depressurizing. Do this for about 1/2 hour each session. I went 5 then rested 5 etc. Mark your progress on the outside tube.
If you miss even one day you will lose length. So be consistent. Morning and evening. Yes you will have a sore penis but it will SLOWLY stretch out. Just keep in mind that what you achieve is the best you can expect from your doctor.
Let me interpret your doctor's reply. "I will do the best I can to insure that you have at least the 3 plus inches that you now have." Unless you go in with more than that the chances are less than zero that he will give you more. And if this is the same guy who probably messed up your first surgery by making a faulty connection etc that goes double.
Just my opinion. Good luck

DougAnd,

This is a different surgeon. Doc Becker is in Florida. Doc Mueller in Jersey.

I appreciate your candor, sir. I need the revision, so the dice will be rolled anyway. Frankly, if I was persuaded I could get my old length back, I'd just have him rip the entire gizmo the hell out of me. However, per others on this board, Doc Mueller confirms that if I do have it removed - then that's it - - one floppy sausage for the rest of my days.

I see him on April 24th. I plan to discuss the VED at that time. The ban on elective surgery will soon be off, full speed ahead!

Thanks again.

Use pump before the surgery.
Ask to be implanted with the AMS LGX instead of AMS CX.
28 year old with severe lifelong ED.
Implanted in New Delhi on 26/12/19 with AMS CX (15x12) + 4cm RTE
Post op length 4.5 inches from ~ (5.5 to 6) inches. Disappointed!
Wish to have a revision to LGX some day.

In my first interview with my doc that had been doing them for 30 years, I told him that my total penis when erected with trimix was 9 inch long , base to tip. He just said flat out, you will get everything back after cycling if not immediately. 3 inch is buried inside and 6 inch out front now. Right after implant I was at 5 3/4 . within 2 months I was back to 6 inch useable.
If you watch the Kramer videos, he is aggressive when shoving that measurement tool in. Maybe your dr is afraid to push the tool all the way in. I think experience counts.
Question:: how long have you had ED? what was your trimix length?

OldBeek,

Never did trimix - - just the gauntlet of pills. Towards the end I was doubling on Levitra and then that laid an egg; which is what made me think implant was my last hope.

I've had ED for about three years. Early on, the pills were hit-and-miss. I had hoped the daily Cialis would be the fix. Alas, no.

I'm back with Doctor Mueller this coming Friday. Hopefully - HOPEFULLY - before then I can get this damn thing to inflate. Of course, if his theory about a "leak" is on-point, then revision is the way to go.

Hope you are well, sir.
