Looking for recommendations - Implant surgeon in San Antonio -Houston area

Postby NorCol » Mon Apr 06, 2020 10:50 am

Beginning the process and finding a very qualified surgeon with positive results is #1 priority. Is there anyone on the board with recommendation for doctor performing PPI in San Antonio, TX area or Houston, TX? See present time as ideal for doing my research and preliminary fact finding as elective surgeries on hold. Any response would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I haven’t been implanted, yet. (I have to self pay so saving up, plus as mentioned Covid has everything suspended). Currently using injections with success.
That said, I have been seeing Dr Jonathon Clavell in Htown. I like him very much. Very responsive and straightforward, I believe he is a progressive doctor not of the “this is the way it’s always been done” or “4 working inches is better than 7 that don’t” mindset.
I will get implanted in the future and unless my situation changes I will use Dr Clavell. (I wish he was my GP and Cardiologist, much better bedside manner).

I'm looking at Dr Leroy Jones/San Antonio Urology Group for a future implant. He's been mentioned on FT before. His(San Antonio Urology Group) page looks impressive but a Healthgrades website gives him mixed reviews. The 1 and 2 stars because of his aloof attitude and being affixed to his laptop throughout the exams. I'm leaning towards him because of his location and his listed Honors & Achievements.

I highly recommend Dr. Johnathan Clavell. He replaced my pump on my Titan when it failed. Dr. Kramer did the original surgery but I could not get an appointment with him for several months so I opted for Dr. Johnathan Clavell. Pain was minimal and recovered fast. He checked on me several times after the surgery.
45 years old, lived with Peyronies for 10 years. Implanted on 5/2/2018 with the Titan 22 cm plus one RTE.

I can recommend my surgeon, Dr. Nathan Starke at Houston Methodist. Young Doctor with an excellent background, great bedside manner and listens to his patients. Very happy with my outcome!
