No conditions that should slow healing, except I am a smoker. I used Dr. Campbell of Urology Group in Cincinnati.

Wow. I also used campbell for my titan implant last march 2019. I had very little pain or bruising. The only pain I had was when I would inflate. That lasted about 6 months, then I had no more pain when inflating. When I was inflating and got the pain it was an ache. I will say my scrotum was not real comfortable for 7 or 8 months. It took a while for my testicles to orient with the pump.

I only used pain pills a couple of days right after surgery.

I chose a local doc for my revision after the titan no longer worked after hernia surgery but would have used campbell again if I had just needed the titan fixed.

I had an lgx installed 2 weeks ago and it went well do far.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

Dr. Campbell gave me no alterative other than the Coloplast Titan OTR if I wanted an inflatable device. I sure hope it lasts many years because I do not want to do this over. As far as pain pills I would have kept eating them like candy for a couple of months if it wasn't for the side effects.

After I read your post I just had to send you a note and tell you how thankful I was that didn’t experience any problems even worth talking about. When I woke up from anesthesia I had a terrible headache that lasted for days. The terrible headache was the worst part of my surgery period! I still cannot believe that I did not experience hardly ANY pain. I had a lot of bruising but that was basically all. I hardly experienced any pain! I would not believe this either if someone would tell me this fact. I had a friend in another state that had this surgery about the same time as I did and he did not experience pain! It was amazing and I followed my doctors instructions to the letter before and after the surgery. I used ice on my crotch for basically the swelling and bruising. The swelling was minimal! I realize I was one of the lucky guys that had this surgery because I did not have hardly any pain.

I had my penile implant January 9, 2020. I never took any hard pain meds and when I awoke from having the surgery I had a bad headache. That was the worst part of my implant surgery period. I had to heal for six weeks then was cleared for sex. I had sex the day after I was cleared to have sex six weeks later. Sex was no problem! I was never sore nor did I ever have any pain when having sex. I am convinced I was one of the lucky guys that had implant surgery. It wasn’t that big of a deal for me. I wish all you guys the best.

Thanks for your comment, as much as it makes me jealous. I get migraines and had quite a few the first few weeks, probably from the drugs. The anesthesia knocked me out for 3 days following surgery thank goodness The drugs did nothing except making me sick. As noted, some heal quickly, some take a long time. I just happen to be in the unlucky group. :(

Thanks for your comment. Dang I sure wish I had it as easy as some of you. The first time sex made me hurt so bad I had to go sit in a hot bath. The worst part was deflating, I couldn't find the release button and would get my scrotum so sore trying to find it. Ended up going to doc three times to get deflated.

OLdguy, What was your antibiotic? (sunburn feeling) I took Levofloxin (Cipro) and the skin on my glans stripped off and bled for 6 months. 4 years later my glans skin is see through. That is another subject. I had the luxury of having a small hot tub that I kept at 106 degree. After 7 days I hit that tub twice a day. My surgeon kept me at 80-90% pumped for the full 4 weeks of healing. 6 inch sticking straight out. He wouldn't give me pain pills. I had some left over from prior surgeries and used them all. Couldn't penetrate without pain till 8 weeks. Today, 1 yr post IPP I still have pain if I pump up hard/hard. Can only stand it about 3 minutes. Have sex at about 70% pumped and go till I climax. Not everyone has the same pain. PS: besides being allergic to levofloxin, I was allergic to Trimix. sever/sever pain. On the scale of 1 to 10 it was pass the bullets so I can shoot myself.

Sorry can't say what antibiotic the implant has on it. I also wonder if that sunburn feeling may have been from whatever they used to remove my hair. Bactrim is one that made me feel sick and achy. Trimix made me hurt when I had to get up to 80ml for results.

Cipro and Levofloxacin are both fluoroquinolones - Not the same thing.

Just to help those in search of anti-B treatments.
