Doctors want to replace it because of the bulb and offered a larger one because of the number of pumps I had to put into mine. This is totally not cool and doesn't instill a lot of confidence

Perhaps that means a larger pump or a larger reservoir. You can only have the length that you have internally. If you jump from a well-sized 22 cm to a 26 cm, that would be over 1.5 inches of oversizing and you will very likely get folds that will not resolve and could make matters much worse.

If you really do need a 26 cm, then you are currently undersized with the 22 cm and it sounds almost like the doctor wants to "cover his/her tracks" by putting the correct size in under the guise of replacing the pump.

Is the doctor certain it's a pump failure? There's a similar situation that arises in the AMS Momentary Squeeze pump where activating the bulb and the deflate button at the same time causes the pump to lock up and get halfway between two modes. With the AMS pump there's a procedure that will reset the pump by allowing saline to bypass the jammed valve to refill the bulb. After it refills, we just squeeze the bulb again and then the deflate valve and everything is back to normal.

If you haven't already, check with your Coloplast Patient Liaison to see if they have a method similar to AMS, to resolve a flat bulb. It seems that I've read about the Titans with flat bulb syndrome and some sort of fix for them. Do a search hear too. I bet it's something you can fix yourself. The doctors know how to install them but not necessarily everything there is to know about their operation. I've seen in at least one instance here where a doctor was talking revision until the AMS pump was reset by the patient and resolved the issue.

Check this out - Subject: Titan Pump Trouble -- seeking advice!!

Sensei mentioned back in November that he had a similar incident and both Coloplast rep and the surgeon said it needed to be replaced due to leak but another younger doctor was able to fix it without a replacement. Maybe he has the answers you need to get it working again.

The answer was an "AGGRESSIVE DRAINING PROCEDURE" when squeezed every single drop of saline out of the implant and back into the reservoir. Now you have a large implant so maybe your reservoir has barely enough to inflate properly and this might fix your issue...

If the pump is hard to press, then maybe it's not a big problem..
If bulb stay flat, then there is a leak, implant has failed.

I think this is another Titan failure..
