Coloplast One Touch Pump versus Classic Pump

Postby 1Roofer » Thu Feb 27, 2020 8:25 pm

I just had my Coloplast fail for a second time within 2 years. Ive been using the Coloplast Classic Pump which is a 2-cylinder pump. I was told that the Coloplast One Touch Pump which is a 3-valve cylinder pump would be an option for my next revision. I was told by a doctor that the 3-valve pump may be able to handle more pressure while having sex versus the 2-valve cylinder. The only downside with the 3-cylinder is that sometimes it gets stuck between deflating & inflating. Apparently, you have to manually work with the rig whenever it sticks. My Doctor said that he thinks that maybe the Classic Coloplast (2-valve) pump may be better for older guys & that the Coloplast One Touch (3-valve) pump may be better for younger guys who have a firmer grip & have more frequent & vigorous sex.

Can anyone give any advice or feedback on this comparison. Trying to attain information to incorporate into my next revision.
Implanted by Dr. Hakky on August 6th, 2018 Coloplast 22 cm. Genesis pump failure 8/17/19. Revision 9/10/2019. Genesis pump failed 2/27/2020 while having sex. Second revision scheduled 4/7/2020 with new Titan One Touch pump instead of Genesis

Be sure you and the doctor are talking about the same pumps.
Coloplast lists three pumps, Titan, Titan OTR, and Titan Touch.

The oldest model is the Titan which might be referred to as the Classic or Genesis pump.
Next is the Titan OTR, maybe that's your One Touch.
Newest is the Titan Touch.

Good to know about the 2-valve vs 3-valve differences.

There's one called the Titan Genesis pump as well.

They don’t sell the Genesis anymore do they? It’s not listed on the current order sheet.
What is the difference between the OTR and the touch? From the illustration is appears that the touch is smaller.

The older titan genesis pump is the one I had implanted on 1.2.2020. My Surgeon did not want to use the 1 touch pump because of failures. There was a titan genesis malleable device in the past. However, you can get either pump. Every person has an opinion as to what device they use. One surgeon I interviewed only used ams cx, and only did infra-pubic surgery. But he would do nothing for my PD. His partner was wasting my time and money giving me Xiaflex injection in the region he would operate on. That would have been a terrible idea. He was not going to excise plaque and PD increase surgical infection risk. So, like I said everyone Provider and patients have opinions. Do your research. The one touch pump that is getting stuck is worthless to a pump that works. There is a reason the genesis pump is still available. So far, It works for me.

I have to say I have loved my titan otr pump. I push the button. I go down. If i want to i can squeeze my penis to get as much saline out as I need to get a lower flaccid but it does well without it.

I have not had an issue with auto inflation either. I go lucky there.

I am having to have a revision due to reservoir issues though. The doc is replacing with 700 lgx. I am looking forward to some softer cylinders but not sure about how big the ams pump is compared to the titan.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

Can anyone tell me how a Titan works? Not Titan one-touch, just Titan (don't know if the classic applies here, but here is pic)

I have this pump; I believe it is the Titan Genesis. So far it works fine. Easy enough to pump once I got the hang of it. You have to squeeze the two bars at the top together for 3-5 seconds to deflate, but that has presented no problem. I like that it is a little smaller than both the Titan One Touch/OTR (same thing, OTR is just the newer model) and also the AMS pump.

I have this pump and 3 weeks cycling now it can inflate fast. Peyronies did not leave me much to work with. But it works. After initial inflation I can give additional pumps. Penis just gets really hard. My fwb said it just like her plastic dildo. So my penis is not a modern silicon like dildo. But a vibrator type. She does feel the implant is better. When deflating squeeze the top two tabs. Faster if you squeeze penis and tabs at same time. This pump is called the genesis pump.
