kink on cylinder gotten worse

Hi all, I finally got the AMS 700 installed 10 weeks ago. Dr inflated it to what seemed like at least 90% during surgery. Went back 5 days later to have it deflated, although it seemed like it was still 75%. Was so sore I didn't attempt to inflate it until 3 weeks afterwards. Then it took another 3 weeks to get it to un-stick (no help from the Drs).

Now, pump is working OK, but I developed a kink in the right cylinder. It starts about an inch up from my groin, & takes a hard turn outwards (not to the right), then loops back in. Kinda like this question mark - ? I had a follow-up with the Dr last week. At that time, I mentioned the lumps in my shaft. He dismissed them as Peyronie's plaque or something crazy, says don't worry about it & just start having sex. Also said the cylinders are like balloons & will expand wherever the penis will let it.

The AMS rep told me to initially pump it up all the way, then wait a minute, & try to squeeze a bit more in. I've been inflating it every night for the past 3 weeks. But this kink has become more profound in the past few days. I've tried pressing it in, massaging it out, deflating & inflating 1 pump at a time, bending it to the left, but nothing is helping. I left a message with my Dr last night, but he hasn't returned it yet. This isn't common, right? How serious is this? Is the cylinder somehow damaged? Is there anything I can do to correct it?

Could this (kink) be one of the tubes? I have a tube on the left side which is running from the pump base and up into my lower abdomen. I think to the reservoir. It comes up under my penis and loops forward then circles back( like a question mark) into my abdomen. It is very obvious but it doesn't bother me.. Can you move your (kink) around or feel if it may be a connecting tube. Mine was a little sore to begin with during healing. It is still there one year later. Not what I expected but this crap is what we live with. Nothing beats a natural blood filled dick!!! BUT, this is all we have now.

TXhope, Do you have CX or LGX?
I'd guess CX if the kink is in a cylinder.
I have a kink in one cylinder and it bothers me, but doesn't hurt.
Does the kink go away when you inflate?
Mine does.

tomas, I don't know! The AMS rep had to look it up & told me CX, but the Dr mentioned that it is LGX. Someone is either lying or mistaken, which is very concerning. Inflating it to the max only bulges it out more, it is very obvious just by looking at it. If I did have a woman to have sex with, I'd be afraid it would snap!

Hope this helps. I too have a kink in right cylinder about an inch from the base. I have a titan and I have a plaque on the left sides. So when deflated my penis leans left and I get a hard kink on the right. I always knew I might needed a graft. When inflated the kink is gone. When deflated I have to keep slightly inflated or I get pain at the kink. The only way to be sure what is going on is too have a ultrasound . That would confirm cylinder and possible plaque formation.

TXhope, look in the AMS documentation packet they sent you home with. There is a pamphlet or booklet in there that has a bunch of tri-foldable AMS device cards. One of those cards should have had the product labels applied for whatever devices they installed. You cut the cards apart and fold it to place in your wallet. The card will tell you exactly which model of cylinders they implanted. By the way, "IZ" means "Inhibi-Zone" or antibiotic coated.

My card has three stickers:

• AMS 700 CX - IZ
• AMS 700 65 mL spherical reservoir - IZ
• AMS 700 MS Pump - IZ

AMS charges $11,000 for the implant device. Tell the rep, you want the documentation sent to you NOW. The sheet they have has all the sizes, build date and serial # of every item implanted. You have a right to that info. I was getting a little run around from my hospital so I demanded it from the rep. She got it to me in less than a week. It is dumb to not know what was installed. Take charge of your own medical records.

I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication from my surgeon.
I guess I'll have to keep asking for it.

I had to ask my surgeon for the notes when I had my 3 month follow-up. He printed them out right then.

It's odd from my prospective that you wouldn't have been given a small packet upon release, only because that was my experience and others here also have talked about it. In its absence, AMS (or maybe the doctor) can provide you with a packet like I described, but it won't have the product stickers for you implants components included. You might ask you doctor if the packet somehow got filed and it's still available, or at least the product component stickers
