Look into a loan with Care Credit (through Synchrony Bank). It's medical a credit account.

I know you want Dr. Eid. But $30K is $30K and there are other reputable surgeons where you might be able to get a better deal.

I had mine done in Austin, Tx. My insurance was billed about $59K and paid about $17K, which was accepted as payment in full.

The transparency in medical cost website for Austin states that the cash price for this procedure done in an outpatient surgery center runs between $17K and 18K.

I kind of see it this way. You don’t have a car. You want a Cadillac. You can get one, except it willl cost you $62K. You could get the same car, basically, with a Chevrolet nameplate on it for $45K. And buying the Chevrolet now doesn’t mean that when it’s time to trade it in you can’t opt for the Cadillac.

I’m not suggesting or advocating you fly to Russia or Burkina Faso and have this done for $800. But there are other competent U.S.A based surgeons where you could get a really good job done, sooner rather than later.....and do it for a more affordable price.

My implant was done with Medicare, but the total amount paid to Dr Eid & hospital was about $20k. If he accepts $20k with Medicare you should be able to negotiate a cash price of that or less. A patient with good private insurance could very well be charged considerably more.

There's also a thread here on costs with Dr Eid: https://www.franktalk.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9894

You seem as if you are in dire need but haven't explained your situation with your ED. Well you seem desperate but you have to consider other options. check every angle possible and i hope that you can resolve your situation. Going on Facebook may be extreme and there are other sites where you can possibly get $$$$ for your "project". However, what will the people get from it?

Dr Eid is a high volume dr and knows his business. He also will listen and has a heart. Perhaps a good consultation with him will draw him in to your plight.

Anyway, wish you the best of luck. ED sucks!

I hear that Dr Eid does have a cash discount. I’m not sure what it is. You can check with MagicMike here on FT.

Cost of the implant is only part of the problem. Travel & lodging can add up quickly. Your best option, in my opinion, is to fill in your stats on your profile. Tell the forum where you live. Don't get your heart set on Eid if you live in California & can't travel. Realistic expectations are very very important. By telling where you live, there is a chance that a forum member knows of a good doctor near you.
You need to disclose any possible complicating health issues that you might have also. It's not fair to ask for advice from the forum without being honest & open about your situation.
You need to write down your goals, list them by a realistic priority. Then start to formulate a plan to accomplish them.

Good my friend, good. You are shifting into problem solving mode - which is exactly where you need to be.

I like the creative thinking ... PM me and I will start you off with $100 donation.

You are 39, so I certainly won't be trying to tell you what to do ... but here are some thoughts:

1. You gotta get a job. Even some part time jobs come with very good health insurance (Starbucks comes to mind).
2. Many good implant surgeons offer a discount for patients who pay cash. Start making a list and calling each one and getting some pricing,
3. Make sure you are taking care of yourself physically (problem solving takes energy). Eat as well as you can afford, get enough sleep, and get some regular excercise. (excercise naturally boosts your testosterone, which in turn really helps with your mental health.) If you are wasting money on drinking - stop.
4. Set a goal of getting your implant "about" a year from now. It may be sooner, or it may be later - but goals are powerful things. And then start figuring out how to make that happen.
5. Don't make rash decisions because you are "39". I made some rash decisions at that age (OMG I am almost 40!) that I now regret. Calm down, think, plan, make good decisons. You are still a very young man.
6. All of this is much easier with a job. I would make that my top priority if I were you. It will really help move the rest of this problem solving along.

In no way am I trying to tell you what to here do my friend ... I am Just trying to make some hopefully helpful suggestions. Moving into problem-solving mode is a very good thing. So stick with it. Make a plan and work your plan.

Take what you find helpful and ignore the rest ... but do please keep us posted.

Also, by setting your sights on Eid, you are overlooking very good surgeons in your area. Just because someone is high volume does not mean they are the (IMHO) best.
A good surgeon will listen and answer your questions. If I knew then what I know now, I don't think I would be in this fucked up situation. Arm yourself. Research. Write down these questions. Interview them. If they don't want to be in your corner, move on.
