2.5 Year Implant Anniversary

Postby Greg1956 » Tue Feb 18, 2020 2:45 pm

Hi Guys!
I just realized today marks 30 months since I had implant surgery. I am extremely happy, and like many other men just wish I had gotten it sooner,

I am one month from my 64th birthday and my ED issues began at age 30. I began masturbating just before my 11th birthday. I started having sex at 18 and had a vigorous sex life until the ED began. My issue ended up being a Venous Leak, but it took a long string of doctors, including several who were specialists in the field of male sexual health or male sexual dysfunction, to finally find the one doctor who listened to the same things I had told all the rest and he had the problem figured out quickly. I am saying this because I never gave up hope for a diagnosis and a solution and I hope if you have any type of ED problem you will keep looking for your own answers.

I did a lot of research before deciding on my surgeon. I understand the reasoning men use to go with Eid, Kramer, etc, but get a bit irritated when they make guys feel stupid for making another choice. As I said I did my homework. I also had endorsement of my surgeon from the high volume docs. I agree not to just choose anyone, but if you do your due diligence, there are options.

Prior to the implant I was only able to get an erection while flat on my back and keeping very still. Thank God my wife, who has a high sex drive like I do, stayed with me and we did what we could to have sex. In addition I developed Peyronies And my penis curved upward. Combined with the shortening reflect from Prostate surgery due to cancer, and atrophy from lack of use, my size had dropped considerably from my lifelong length.

During my pre-op appointment with my surgeon, he did the stretch test and it was about 4”. He said that was what I should expect, even though I told him I could get to 5” flaccid from massaging it. I was so desperate just to be able to get a usable erection that at that point size was secondary.

my surgeon gave me the option to choose which brand of implant I wanted. I went with the AMS for a couple reasons. Due to my size loss I was more encouraged with the AMS benefit of regwjng length from cycling. What I like most was the more natural look when flaccid. I have been a nude model for artists since I was 18 so it was important that I did not have anything resembling a semi-erection. I am also at the gym a lot and like the AMS for that same reason for the locker room.

I went to Show and Tell appointments with two guys and one had an AMS and the other had a Titan. I just preferred the AMS for me. I have nothing against Titans for anyone else.

During my surgery my doctor scraped away plaque from the Peyronies and it made my penis more flexible so he was able to use a larger implant than he had expected to. After I was back home and unwrapped the gauze my penis was mostly erect and measured 4”. I knew I could eventually pump it up more so I assumed I might end up with 4.5” or maybe 5” after a lot of cycling.

I was actively cycling my AMS700LGX twice a day up until I was diagnosed with cancer for a second time. During my treatments I stopped cycling for 6 months, both to focus on my overall health, and because part of my treatment included Lupron injections, considered a temporary
Form of castration. In addition to the fatigue from the rest of my treatments, I had absolutely no sexual desire, including touching my dick.

Once I was healed I returned to twice daily cycling and am thrilled to be back at my lifelong length of 5 3/4” soft and 6 3/4” hard. My wife and I have sex 3-4 times a week and I masturbate every day whether we have sex or not. It helps satisfy my sex drive.

I do not foresee any addition length gains, but I am still cycling. My habit is to pump up just as I am starting to wake up and the lay in bed and allow myself to doze off. When I wake up it’s as if I have morning wood and I love that feeling. At night, even if we don’t have sex, I like being hard before going to sleep. I deflate it for sleep as my doctor said continuous pressure from remaining pumped up would be more likely to cause erosion inside the glans.

I would make all the same choices again. I am going to tell any of you who are considering an implant that you are lucky. I know you don’t feel lucky having ED, but the reason I say it is because there is so much more awareness today than there was 30 years ago. Having this forum is also a major plus. You know you are not along. I used to feel like I was the only guy who had issues and my wife thought I was not turned on anymore. There is so much info out there today. You just need to find the reason for your ED and find the right solution to correct it. Believe me, I understand all of the crap that goes on with doctors, insurance, etc. but please don’t give up.

Thanks for sharing your story! It’s incredibly motivating and it helps us who are looking forward to an implant. Congratulations on completing 2.5 years!
A young guy in his early 30s from South Asia. Implanted Titan 22cm by Dr. Tariq Hakky in Atlanta (Dec 2020). Amazing doctor! No pain during recovery. My size is 5.75” x 4.6” which is better than pre-OP size of 5.6” x 4.5”. Hoping to gain more in future.

Thanks for sharing your experience with AMS LGX. Your flaccid really looks flaccid and that is what I am missing from my Titan. My Titan is never flaccid. For sure, I learned how to deflate it properly and fully deflated, my penile shaft looks so flat like it was run by bus tire. It always looks semi erected with at the best 45 degrees.
I was never big 6.5”) but lost 2+ inches after radical prostatectomy and at implant consultation, I was told the same. I won’t be any longer then about 4.5”.

You are welcome. Sorry to hear about your problems with your Titan. There are guys here on FT with Titans whose penises do have a very natural hang. It is hard to understand why some do and some don't.

Greg, Thanks for your post. I am 5 weeks out from surgery. Dr did the same thing for me, Pulled on my dick and said this is what you will have. I am supposed to be activated a week from tomorrow. With that being said I felt so good and comfortable I decided to start cycling on my on. When I first measured after surgery it was just a bit over 4. With cycling for 2 weeks understand I am getting better and using the pump bulb. I have made steady growth. Today I measured with as many pumps as I could do and was 5.5 inches. Heck that is only 1/4 inch from my pre surgery length with VED.

Like you I chose a local guy and very pleased. Not one day of pain and the wife and I have been able to test drive this thing 2 X already. Damn its nice!

Next week when we go to the Dr I am going to need to play dumb and a rock for activation!

Again thanks for posting.

Happy to hear you are doing so well. My logic tells me right after implant surgery our dicks are so right from all they have been through that they are not ready to stretch at all. As the healing begins the shaft becomes more and more flexible and that is when it has the capacity to grow, if it is going to.

I activated and masturbated prior to my activation appointment. I basically went so the doc could make sure my incision was all properly healed so I could have sex and also start swimming again. He said every guy is different, but in general, if after a few weeks if you feel good enough to do those things, you shouldn't have a probably have an issue.

When you say you "test drive", just be cautious. The number one reason for waiting for any type of sexual activity is to avoid infection.

Really encouraging post as I a man scheduled to be implanted this Thursday by Dr Brian Christine in Birmingham, AL. ED for most of 20 years, then developed PE and now PD at about 60 degrees. When talking to doctor I voiced my choice would be for the AMS LGX and he said that would be considered but may have to go with the CX . Will find out in 2 days. Excited and nervous at the same time but stories like yours surely help!
Born 1951, married since 1975, ED of varying degree for 20+ years with associated PE for several years and then peyronies for about 3 years with 70 degree upward bend. Implant with AMS 700 CX with plication on 2/20/2020.
