Anyone get a "male sling" operation for incontinence after having an implant installed? Not looking forward to another operation in that region but tired of having a wet frozen dick when outside in the winter.

oldbeek, I had a Male Bladder Sling put in after my 2nd implant because of incontinence. Prostate removal 10/2014, Ist implant 10/2015, 2nd implant 12/2016, sling 07/2018. The sling did help but did not stop it completely. I normally use 1 thin pad per day, sometimes the pad is totally dry at the end of the day . The pain was not too bad, but you knew that someone had done some work down there.

I had rather severe leakage after PC surgery. I started fairly slight but progressed over time. after getting fed up with how it was controlling my life, I decided to do something about it. I looked into the sling and it has its uses but also has some possible complications long term. For the most part I dont think it is really used that much.
What i opted for was the artificial urinary sphinkter. It is a cuff that goes around the urethra fairly far under the paritnium. it is sort of the opposite of the penile prosthesis, there is a very small pump that pumps out the fluid and allows flow. then after a min or so closes down. I works extremely well and I only rarely have drop or two if i press against the cuff inadvertanely. I really is the gold standard and yeah I now have two pumps but this one is about 15% the size of then penile one. No big deal. The recoup is pretty easy and frankly it is a miracle. I would strongly suggest you find a doc who does lot of these and talk to them about it. Sling is ok but really no great if you continue to have progressivly more leakage.
