How often do you pump

Postby jisherwood » Sun Feb 09, 2020 6:11 pm

I am asking this questions as I have all of a sudden developed pain around my reservoir. Implanted June 2019 and started having pain but can massage the area and it disappears :?: Urologist has looked and can't find anything wrong. I guess I pump it up once to twice a week. Do I need to pump daily or better yet 3 times a day  Just checking with fellow implant friends

Thanks Jeff

I pump/cycle daily, several times a day. I also make minor remodeling adjustments if I see any bends that don't quite look right (ask your doctor before attempting the same). Basically, anytime I step up to the toilet to pee, even if I'm at work so long as I can find an available stall, I will cycle.

I pump daily while taking my testosterone. When I stopped that for a month, I had no desire to touch it.
Didn't want to live that way so resumed the shots. Will need to monitor the PC more closely, but that's how it goes.

I would worry about pain around the reservoir. I wonder what causes that?

Jisherwood,

How soon after surgery were you activated?
Were you pumped up after surgery?

jisherwood, I pumped 3 times a day as soon as I could stand it. Morning before I got out of bed, midday in my recliner and at bedtime. sometime a 2nd one at midday, as long and as much as I could handle without being insane about it.

jisherwood,, I had pain in that area but more on the left side. Thought, implant!! What else could it be just 3 months after IPP. Must be the reservoir! It was a hernia that was probably caused by gas being pumped inside of me during the Radical Prostatectomy about 1 yr previously. Had it repaired at USC Keck also.

AG I was inflated when I left surgery for 4 weeks.
Update as of 2/23 pain comes and goes. If I over work myself by lifting the wrong way it will start to hurt. Rub the effected area and pain goes away. I happy to say that I have been pain free for weeks now. Urologist thinks it is nothing important just be careful when lifting heavy thing.

Thanks Jeff

I've been having possibly similar pain where my reservoir was placed. Sometimes it feels like a gas pain but more persistent. Rub my pubic mons and it goes away.
