Has anyone in the Oregon area had a local doctor do implant surgery? I have a consultation appointment with Dr. Roger McKimmy. He is the main Dr. for implants at the Oregon Urology Institute in the Eugene area.

How many does he do and can he give you past patients to contact? My experience with doctors in Southern Oregon is; They think they are the best in their field, but wouldn't be a pimple on the ass of a good surgeon in LA. Sorry to be so blunt but one killed my dad in Medford.

Hey Buckster,

I just wanted to jump in here with a comment. You read so many stories here on Franktalk from members (including myself) who describe this surgery as no big deal, a walk in the park.

In my opinion it is no big deal for an experienced top implant surgeon who does LOTS of these procedures ... however, it IS a big deal for an inexperienced local urologist who claims to be high volume to get your business - but really isn't. There is a good reason so many members of FT choose to travel, sometimes across country, to get to one of the true experts.

The surgery is still uncommon, and has many potential negative consequences ... so I think you need to find one of the top 10 or so implant surgeons in the country to do this for you. That way the odds of success are in your favor.

There may be some good implant docs up in Oregon - but I don't know. So take your time and do your homework.

For what its worth.
