(Waynetho) Dr Morey's verdict: Implant is fine - no issue he sees

Postby Waynetho » Mon Feb 03, 2020 6:33 pm

Dr Morey saw me today and he stated that the choice of size for my implant was something he might have had to do in a similar situation and that the implant seems to be functional for its intended purpose.

I posed my concerns, not deep enough in the crus, stops at the pubic bone, tubes at the surface right at the base, go down "tightly" under the penis, penis wobbles left/right, pain in left perineum when I sneeze,

All points he stated were perfectly normal in my situation and gave recommendations to stabilize while inserting to avoid wobble (that wasn't really my concern as I've used it already with no problem).

That being said, he's done over 1000 such implants and said in a similar situation as mine, he would have likely done the same procedure with the same results. I have chosen to continue with my followups seeing Dr Morey instead of my current urologist because he will likely be the one to do any revisions I may need in the up coming years (unless he retires before I need one). I will continue to see my Uro for normal urological followups. Dr. Morey actually talks to you and listens to your concerns and gives straight answers as opposed to the non-answers I got previously.

Translation:

Dr Morey saw me today and he stated that the choice of size for my implant was something he might have had to do in a similar situation and that the implant seems to be functional for its intended purpose.

I posed my concerns:
  • implant rear tips not deep enough inside the erectile bodies in my body
  • the implant stops at the pubic bone
  • tubes are at the surface right at the base
  • the tubing go down "tightly" under the penis
  • penis wobbles left/right
  • pain in left crotch between my balls and asshole when I sneeze

All points he stated were perfectly normal in my situation and gave recommendations how to stabilize the wobble while inserting into my partner to avoid wobble (that wasn't really my concern as I've used it already with no problem).

I know I'd push for a more detailed explanation of the issues you complained about.
Is he just blowing smoke?

No, I've heard good things about Dr. Allen Morey and our moderator DaveKell knows him personally. He's done well over 1000 implants and still a high-volume surgeon, whereas with my urologist that number seems to be somewhat of a mystery. Since my doctor didn't answer the questions I asked, choosing to give me non-answers or answers to questions I never asked, I didn't have a warm feeling. I'm not saying he didn't do a good job or the same job that Dr. Morey would have done because Dr. Morey seems to indicate that he may have done the same. What I'm saying is that Dr. Morey actually answers the questions I ask, gives full answers and he's got a strong track record so I'm confident that he is legit with the answers. He wasn't willing to take my case and do a revision JUST BECAUSE I ASKED FOR ONE. He gave cogent responses and explained his answers and reasoning. Obviously I felt and still feel a better (deeper) job might have been done but he agrees that my implant is good enough and he would probably do the same in my situation - that's what second opinions are for.

TL:DR - I feel like Dr Morey has the skillset and experience to continue my followups (now once yearly) and I'm confident that he can do my next revision should I ever need one. My urologist will remain my urologist, just not my surgeon.

The area between your balls and asshole, perineum, I had that after my 1st implant. However, my pain was when I went to sit down, nothing else. Sneezing was not a problem, it was only sitting down (hey, I got one, hot damn!!!)

It is my theory that the sneeze pain in the left perineum is due to the rear tip *NOT* being in the crus, and the scarring isn't as hard on the left side so when I sneeze hard, the muscles contract and try to push the rear tips deeper into the crus which causes the pain down there.

That's only my theory though because I would probably have to be put under a fluoroscope while sneezing to prove it. The twinge of pain in my perineum never occurred (EVER) before my implant surgery. Now it has happened a handful of times most recently being today on my way to see Dr. Morey.

Just thinking out loud so don't laugh, but could you conduct a sneeze test with the IPP in both inflated and deflated states? When inflated the tips should be pushed more securely into the crus and you might not experience the same pain when sneezing. Have all your other sneeze/pain experiences been when deflated? The trick would be out to induce a sneeze on demand, but some of us can, like I have a sensitivity to dust.

Your cruse muscles are anchored on the inside of your thighs. How can your cruse base be clear up at your pubic bone. Just a thought. I am not a doctor. Tri-mix gave me severe pain. I could feel the pain down in my cruse. The base was 1/2 inch from my anus. I can feel the solid RTE's at the same place.

No, the rear tips of the implant are at the pubic bone, confirmed by Dr. Morey. They go slightly further than the bone, just barely under it and then stop, apparently at scar tissue blockage.
