hello all,
im about 5 hours out from surgery with dr eid. this board helped cement my confidence in my choice so i really didnt do a lot of research into the devices, that is until i checked into my hotel. stayed up almost all night stressing and reading about issues with touch pump; was having fantasies of bolting. tried to switch right before surgery but he says touch is superior and he no longer uses genesis. he estimated me at a 24cm at the preop and ended up putting in a 22 + 1 extender. pain is not too bad and i only took an ibuprophen so far, and that was mostly for inflammation. I know the real test is on activation day.
unfortunately i am missing the page on icing instructions. i texted dr eid and he gave me the short version: ice for two continuous days then heat. if anyone who has been a patient could provide the actual verbiage from the instructions it would be really appreciated. thanks.

I'm not his patient, nor I have an implant... But last time I checked his patient portal on his website, he had a lot of information there and I was under the impression you had all the info there about your prescriptions... Have you checked it out?

Yes mate, cold packs for the first 2 days and then warm bath in the tub if you got one or heating pads as I did. I am 2 weeks off surgery and I wish I used ibuprofen earlier. I got one yesterday and as a miracle for the first time before I went to bed I felt no more pain in the sac. What a relief. Today I got 3 pills and tomorrow I will use some more. It seems that it helps. Just be patient, it is a matter of time.

Continually ice ice ice. Don't worry about 20min on and off. I am a patient I'd Eids and iced the day of surgery and then for two straight days afterwards. I tried sleeping with ice bags on at night as well. The more ice on there the better just make sure the ice is on top of the jock strap not underneath... Lol

Congrats on joining our unique bionic brotherhood. I am at 10 days post op (Dr Eid was not my Doc) but can assure you icing is imperative. I iced for 4 days - too long. Stop at 3 and use heat (hot baths or heat pad). This made huge difference in healing for me - both in scrotum swelling and pain management. Best of luck!

thanks everyone for the responses. it definitely helps with the pain and swelling but was worried about overdoing it- it seems thats not an issue. i also went to sleep with the packs on but slept so long they were warm when i woke up; only good thing about this foley is not having to get up to pee in the middle of the night. day two going pretty smoothly with no narcotics yet. they tried to give me some at discharge saying tylenol wouldnt cut it, when i declined they said i already had a narcotic in the IV-guess thats why i was so chill afterwards.

another question for dr eids patients: did you take the prescribed percecet or tylenol with codeine before right before your activation appointment. i can image it being pretty painful but dont know how i would react to these medications and dont want to travel in a haze. thanks again
