Anyone else have a wife who is against "Show & Tell"?

Postby Waynetho » Sat Dec 21, 2019 11:56 pm

I got a request for a show & tell tonight and while working out the details with the requester, my wife went ballistic and refused to talk about it, simply saying, "you're going to do as you damn well please so I'm not going to talk about it!"

The discussion got very loud and very ugly as I tried to pull out what her issue was, never actually getting any answer. Ultimately I had to give my apologies to the person who reached out me, stating that my wife objected to my meeting someone for show & tell.

My wife had a bad experience almost 40 years ago when she walked in on her 2nd husband in bed with another guy.

Has anyone here run into the same issue with a wife against you having a show & tell and if so, how did you handle it? If not, suggestions on how you WOULD handle it if in the same situation as I experienced tonight?

Sounds like a trigger point for her. She'll never get that picture out of her mind. It is permently etched in there. Any event that has 2 men & a penis or two out in the fresh air is likely a big no to her. Give up show & tell. Just my opinion.

I know my wife would be appalled if I were to suggest such a thing. Forget it - if mama ain't happy ain't nobody happy.

My wife did not understand at all when I came home from a pre-implant Show and Tell and told her all about it. I was so relieved to finally understand the implant and how it worked and was ready to schedule my surgery. It was such an important thing for me that I decided to attend a second Show and Tell with a guy who had the other brand. Then I made up my mind I would offer Show and Tells to other guys who were unsure, afraid, etc. I don't tell her about them. For me this is such an important thing and if I am able to help a guy as much as those other men helped ease my mind, I am going to do it.

I haven’t talked to my wife about but I think she would be 100% supportive of me doing it. She knows that I don’t mind talking and answering questions about it and that I want to help anyone I can. So many people don’t even know about them. Some close friends of our have an 18 yo son that has type 1 diabetes like me. He doesn’t take care of himself and his sugars are through the roof. So I’m sure he’ll have ed in about 10 years or less. We were talking about me having done and the mom said, “that she had never heard of the implant”. So that’s my point about people not knowing about them. Just my thoughts and I totally understand anyone that won’t do a show and tell. I haven’t been asked to do one but I think I would and the wife would support me.

Suggestion: if you still want to educate the guy, suggest meeting at a Dr's office, or even at your place (highly doubtful, but it will calm wifey down). Any neutral area where you are not alone with the guy. have a time limit on show/activation, then the tell part can be as long as you want.
Show and tell at a public place where wife is waiting for you outside (Clinic bathroom, go in for a few minutes, and come out and talk).

I asked for a show and tell also, and guy suggested Dr's office, not a problem, just have to work out the logistics.
But if its still not an option, let it go.

Why bother with a show and tell? All of us are different so the outcome from implant WILL be different.
Chatting with a guy on the phone who had one to tell his experience would be a safer avenue. (Wife won't flip out).
Use Super Quadmix due to severe Venous leak.Have a GREAT DAY!

I agree - when I was exploring the implant, Dr. Kramer referred me to one of his patients who had agreed to talk with prospective implantees. I found out all I was wondering about through a conversation with this guy. No need for an in-person encounter.

Hey Wayne
So if you are really invested in making yourself available for show & tell, why dont you ask your wife to accompany you. She could add input from a wife's point of view and see for herself that this is an information session with others thinking of implant. That this is purely an educational endeavor. Just a thought.
