Conflicted: pump or semi rigid

Postby Crtrader » Fri Dec 20, 2019 5:48 pm

Hey guys- 65 yr old, prostate cancer treatment. I want to get an implant ASAP, and have appointments with 3 docs in January. I would prefer a malleable for ease of implant, recovery, and use. Especially after all the horror stories about using the pump.
Does anyone know anyone who’s happy with their semi rigid? I would especially like to hear any feedback on the Tactra. Thank you so much!

if these are your big concerns, it may be a pretty good option for you! They’re extremely mechanically sound and definitely help with people who have dexterity issues… The major drawbacks seem to be storage and the risk for erosion… I highly recommend you ask your surgeons if they have anyone that They know of who would be willing to do a show Andntel with you… there’s certainly a big difference in feel between the semi rigid’s and the three-piece… Best of luck!

Crtrader,

I definitely can help in this department.\
Right now, I have a malleable, but my preference was for a pump.
The malleable is just that, a malleable pair of rods, nothing else (think adjustable reading lamp neck).
A 3=piece has hollowed out rods for saline to pump inside, and makes things more rigid (think ruffer sex, lol).

From what I have read, the malleable is preferred by surgeons for guys who have suffered things other than ED that may have issues with manual dexterity. It is good enough for, IMHO, vaginal sex, but not anal sex, among other things. Think a permanent hardon, and you can bend it up or down or whatever position you are looking to use it at.

The 3 piece is made for abuse, lol, but is more complicated. You actually have 3 pieces of equipment in your body. you have the rods, the pump in your balls, and the reservoir in you belly. More contraptions, more chances of things going wrong, but it is more rigid.

Both prosthesis erode tissue, but with the malleable, it is eroded much faster because of the constant, rigid state.

I don't know your circumstances, but you are on the right track if you have 3 doctors to consult on. Continue your research. Weigh your options. Get your questions ready for the Drs when you meet with them. See whom you are comfortable with. What I said is for me only.
Good luck!

While the virtues of the one-piece malleable/semi-rigid implant are undeniable, there is a reason the 3-piece implant (with all its complications) was invented and has a greater market share than the older design.

What are the main reasons? Bigger? Harder? Easier to conceal? I’m just trying to decide if the semi rigid is hard enough for good sex, is the inflatable is worth the hassle. I also understand the semi rigid is the standard in a lot of other countries, including Colombia and Brazil. And people there have A Lot of sex.

One of the bigger reasons for an inflatable is that they have lower risk of erosion through the glans or urethra than do semi-rigid malleable devices.

Crtrader.
I'd be very careful following that logic. That assumes that the medical system & doctor skill levels are equal. Also, the average patient education level isn't the same. I'm fairly sure that if you dig deeper. You'll find that most people of any significant financial means do not get delicate or technical surgeries done in their native countries. Apple's are not oranges in this case. Stats can mislead you.
Have you seen the current conditions in Columbia. They're having a hard time even feeding themselves.
Three piece is popular because it mimics a natural erection closer than a ridgid does. Just a point of view from an internet stranger. Don't fight the success of a proven procedure.

Crtrader,
I am going on 2 weeks now with the malleable.
I can understand now what I read about being uncomfortable.
I have been whacking off every so often, and each time, aside from the refractory period, I am sensitive for a really long while. Had to get nekkid in bed because my underwear was just bothering cock. If it was summer, I could just leave everything off, but i am fucking freezing here!
Also, the permanent hardon I mentioned...it just adds to the situation of being uncomfortable, esp. when standing up or walking around. It is painful to handle cock by way of trying to conceal it. By this I mean holding it an positioning it accordingly.

Thanks for reply. You had the surgery 2 weeks ago and you’re already “wacking off ?? Sounds like you’re doing pretty good. Of course, I would think you are sore, since it’s only been 2 weeks. I actually wouldn’t mind walking around hard- after nothing for 3 years!
