Reservoir placement .

Postby Biker60 » Wed Dec 18, 2019 1:17 pm

I am 2 weeks out of my surgery. Yes I am Getting cold feet. I guess the fear of doing this alone is taking its toll a bit. I had back surgery 10 year ago, did that alone, was divorced and not seeing anyone back then. But I was skiing in Colorado 8 weeks after surgery. Now 10 years latter need implants for severe Pd. My 2nd wife who was my real soulmate died 18 months ago. So alone again naturally. But life is for the living and I intend to do so. I got PD shortly after she passed. So this now becomes the end of my Pd road. Surgery. Question to you guys who have implants. Can you feel the reservoir in your pelvic region. From the videos it looks it is just pushed into place. I will be having the implants via scrotum. I think when it’s infra pubic it goes next to the bladder. Thanks all

I also had the scrotal installation.
I asked my doc for that approach and he said "we'll see".
I was pleasantly surprised to wake up and find he did it.

I have NEVER found any evidence of where the reservoir is.
I did and still do occasionally feel where he punctured the wall between pubic and abdominal cavities.

Please don't get cold feet if you have a competent surgeon.
I'm sorry you've had to deal with so many setbacks in your married life and hope this will perk things up.
I know it has for me.

Mine was infra pubic and I have never felt my reservoir or given it any thought. After having a lung removed six months ago due to recurring cancer I am back to being active and we have a great sex life. Probably all of us had some second thoughts it’s normal.

I was implanted in July and the surgeon said he couldn’t get my reservoir as high as he wanted and I can feel and see where mine is. At my six week follow up he said, it had moved down some but was an easy fix if it bothers me. It may have moved lower and the top of it is at about 11:00 of the base of my penis. So part of it is on the right side of the base. Sometimes it bothers me some, discomfort, but not bad. I see the doc next month and we’ll talk about it then.

Mine was a 65 cc spherical reservoir and it was placed in the left abdomen via penoscrotal incision. I felt the ache on day one and asked if he wasn't able to get it in the right side due to my PD. He said it was in the left because he's right handed and that is easier for him. He also placed my pump in front of my left testicle (even though I'm right handed).

Most of the time I don't feel the reservoir at all but I still occasionally get a slight dull ache in my abdomen/groin area where the pump was placed. I am only at day 51 today so it's probably still got a lot of healing to do before the fibrous capsule completely forms around the reservoir.

Penoscrotal. 2 weeks post surgery, and I do not feel my 100cc reservoir. See Dr. Kramer’s videos to see reservoir placement.

I have had several abdominal surgeries and multiple bowel obstructions and an ileostomy, so I was very concerned about something being placed in my abdomen. Ive had a long history of adhesions in that area.

So far, so good! I can't even tell where the reservoir is and my surgeon placed it via penoscrotal incision. No abdominal incision was necessary. I had an X-ray of the abdomen to check my kidneys for a chronic stone issue and I got to see where the reservoir was placed.

Ive had no abdominal discomfort or any adverse symptoms ( 8 weeks...knock on wood!)
