Venous Leakage

Postby robertm » Wed Dec 18, 2019 10:45 am

Like a lot of FrankTalk men, I suffer from venous leakage. Does anyone know what causes VL? And why is it not fixable with surgery? With all the amazing complex surgeries they do today, why is it so hard to fix venous leakage? Heck, they can turn a man into a woman and vice versa. But they can't fix VL?
60 yrs old. Gradually worsening ED for 10 years. Pills and trimix not working well anymore. Will need an implant in the near future.

Yes, the drainage of the erecting blood from the penis is a complex process that is not just physical/hydraulic. It involves nerves and mental activity as well.

So, my wild-ass-guess (W.A.G.) follows:

There have been attempts to occlude outflow of blood from the corpus cavernosum/tunica albuginea, but adjusting the restriction of outflow to achieve "just enough and controllable by degree of mental arousal" between not enough (resulting in no cure) and too much (resulting in priapism) is tricky and has a low success rate.

Finding the leak is also difficult, so where to you put the patch?
