Going Through Surgery Alone

Hi, has anyone gone though the surgery without a partner or friend present? I do not have a girlfriend at the moment and not excited about letting anyone know I’m doing this. My surgery would be out of town so I was thinking about checking into a hotel, getting a shuttle back and forth to the hospital and remaining in the hotel up to a week until I feel up to the 4 hr drive home. Is this doable alone?

CPM, sorry to hear that you are going through this alone.
Its obvious you are embarrassed about this situation, yet, I have to wonder why?
It would be even worse if you went through life suffering from not performing in the bedroom (or any place else...wink, wink).
Rather than saying what you are going for, just use what about 90% of the users on here tell others..you are going in for hernia surgery south of the border and need someone to help you out and possibly drive because you don't know how you will be after a week.
Initially, definitely have someone with you. You are *going* to feel really, really crappy, and need someone initially to get you water, make sure you get right meds, etc.

As for going it alone, I would say that is fine, BUT, we all respond differently to aftercare. Is the hotel you are staying at booked up most of the time? You may want to extend that time if you can, just in case, and if you don't need the extra time, just check out.

Me, my surgery was this past Tuesday. I am walking around with my dick hanging out of my pajama bottoms because it is sensitive. I do have a close friend taking care of me, but he also has a life to live and 4 dogs to take care of and has to work, so I seen him when its feeding time for the dogs, and after work and weekends.

Do you have underwear with a hole in it for your dick to hang out (not talking open fly, but an actual hole)?

I know there are numerous guys here in Fat who have gone alone and stayed in a hotel for a few days afterwards. Their doctor or a nurse came and checked on them. Each of has different recoveries.

Mine went very easy. I have my wife, but told her she could go ahead and due whatever she wanted/needed to. I did not need any pain pills and was able to get in and out of bed, get to the freezer for my bags of peas to use as ice packs, etc.

I know I could have gone alone and stayed in a hotel without any problem, but you won’t know until after surgery how your recovery will go.

Even right after surgery?
I felt like crap, all I wanted to do was lie down. Sleep was an afterthought.
I rest my case, CPM, on how we respond. I definitely needed someone right after surgery. I probably could drive home right now, but don't want to chance it, since pecker is still sensitive.

That is what I did. After surgery I spent the night in the hospital and was released the next day. I used a medical escort service to take me to my hotel. In hindsight I could have saved myself some money and just used Uber. I stayed in the hotel for three days before driving 3.5 hours home. I don't think 3 days was really necessary but you will want to stay at least one, then see how you feel.

Thanks Jerry. I wish you all the luck in the world and I’m confident we both will come out the other side with a much better quality of life. Dennis

It’s not that I’m embarrassed it’s just that I have a small family and circle of friends and few would be in a position to travel with me. I have invested in the Separatec pouch briefs and they seem suitable to do the job. I am currently going through the pre-approval process for insurance etc. if Anthem turns me down I plan to self finance although obviously that’s not my preference. I also need to get my blood glucose down a bit to mprove the chances of avoiding an infection. I am going with Dr. Tajkarimi In Leesburg, Va. He does 3 or 4 surgeries a week and seems to have a good reputation. If everything works out, we are targeting late January or February.
