In hindsight I could have saved myself some money and just used Uber. I stayed in the hotel for three days before driving 3.5 hours home. I don't think 3 days was really necessary but you will want to stay at least one, then see how you feel.

Sorry your doing this alone, but that week in the hotel would make your 4 hour ride a lot easier. I had mine done 6/18/19, & all went well. I highly advise using ice throughout the day. The first week I also took the hydrocodone. I then went to Tylenol extra strength after that. By staying close by the hospital for a week is a good idea. But you can do it alone, & a few months down the road you’ll be glad you had it done. At first I was a skeptical that I made the right decision, but after 6 months I’m very pleased with the results. Good luck, keep us updated on your progress. Take care, Bailey

Thanks for the feedback. Did you have much interaction with the medical staff during the 3 days?

My surgeon came in and removed my drain before I was released from the hospital and I didn't see or talk to any medical people until I went in for my follow up 2 weeks later. At that time he showed me how to inflate and deflate.
Going alone is totally doable. While I was given pain meds, I never took them. The swelling was the worst part. Ice packs help but it is still like you have a hard-on 24/7. Make sure you wear some loose pants for the drive home. My doctor recommended I keep my penis pointed up to help with swelling but my new flaccid now runs into my waist band so it was not comfortable to do. I usually wear boxers but I wore jockeys after I got home for a while. I used them to keep my dick from pointing down and help hide my "hard on". After about 10 or 14 days I switched to boxer briefs so I could point my dick down, which I find more comfortable, and they are tight enough to keep the beast tamed. Although, I did catch a couple women checking out my package.
