I've had my Penile Implant for almost Two Months - A Review

Postby WindWizard » Fri Dec 06, 2019 6:33 pm

Hey everyone. I've sadly been so busy I haven't kept up with my Implant Journal, and I've gone thru so many ups and downs emotionally over the implant, that in a way, I'm glad, I feel like I have much more stable input to share after living with this thing for almost 2 months. A lot of the things I was worried about in the first several weeks are not even applicable whatsoever anymore, as the issues have resolved themselves. Patience is truly the key to maintaining a positive attitude after implant surgery. With that said, here is my two month review.

Pros
- The implant fricking works. It's pretty amazing to just pump up the implant and just sit or stand or shower with a raging, rock hard boner that won't fail on me. Before being implanted if I stopped manual stimulation my erection would instantly start to fade, so I feel so good knowing that I can keep a nice hard cock as long as I want.

- Sensation is all still there. This was something I was a bit worried about prior to surgery, especially considering that I was going to have the infrapubic surgical method. Dr. Karpman assured me that there would be no loss of sensation and he was absolutely right. Sensation is exactly where it was before being implanted.

- Glans engorgement works just like it did before the implant. As long as I'm aroused, my glans get large and firm and full, just like Karpman promised me they would. My penis feels warm and full and it feels like me. Very pleased with this.

-Masturbation and oral sex feels amazing soon after being pumped up. It feels just like it did before being implanted, except I'm not having to worry about my inability to achieve a full erection. After a little while however, my glands start to hurt from the tips of the implants, and sexual activity only heightens this pain.

- Lost length appears to be returning. If I bend my penis straight, (It is curved downwards) and measure when my glans are engorged, I measure just a hair shy of 6 inches now, so I'm much closer to my trimex best of 6.2 inches than I was when initially pumping up, I was only about 5.5 inches inflated when I first started cycling. I'm definitely hoping to get some more growth and get back up to my trimex best, but if not, I'm pretty content with my size. A working dick is so much better than a flaccid one, and if I had to loose a little bit of length to get that, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Cons

- My glands really start to hurt from the tips of my implant after about 20-30 minutes of being pumped up. Sometimes the pain is worse than others, and this effects how long I can stand being pumped up. After about 40 min, the rest of my penis including my shaft and often my pump start to hurt. Hopefully this is a good sign, as it means my AMS implant is still stretching my skin out and I will have more growth. Either way, this definitely effects sexual activity, as when I start to masturbate or have sex, glans pain gets even worse because of the pressure put on the implant tips. All of the pain disappears as soon as I deflate however.

- Sex fucking hurts. I've only tried once, a few days ago with my new girlfriend, and it was very disappointing with letting her down. The implant works, I can insert, wear a condom, and fuck her without fear of losing my erection, all the things I've never been able to do before, but the pain on my part was very high, and I was only able to perform for about 10 minuets before I just couldn't stand it anymore. The pain in the tips when thrusting is really high, but what hurt even worse was the bending that happens during sex. My penis is curved downwards at about 10-15 degrees perhaps, and when I was fucking her in missionary, (her fav position) her body was essentially bending my penis upwards. This caused excruciating pain. When I'm pumped up, it really hurts if I try to bend or hold my penis upwards, even slightly, which is why when I masturbate, I masturbate with the curve of my penis. We tried some doggystyle, which hurt less because it wasn't bending my penis against my curve, but by then my tips were hurting so bad I had to stop. I'm really hoping that the pain when bending against my curve goes away soon, because in my current state I still can't enjoy sex at all.

- No way around this one. I think Dr. Karpman really botched my pump placement. The pump has essentially taken the place of where my left testicle used to be, pushing my left testicle down and further back, mostly hidden behind my pump. When my scrotum is relaxed, my testicles hang large and free, but my left testicle is still hanging behind the pump. The pump is free and loose in my scrotum, but I can't switch positions with my left testicle. Karpman seemed very hopeful that thing would move and adjust as the swelling in my scrotum went down, but I can confidently say he was wrong, the pump position is where it is, too far forward and far too visible. When my scrotum is tight, the pump isn't really visible, but when my scrotum hangs loose and free, which it usually does during sexual activity, the pump is instantly noticeable beneath my skin. Any girl will spot it instantly.

Verdict

Ultimately, I am currently of mixed satisfaction when it comes to the implant. It does work, it gets me nice and hard, and it's completely reliable and easy to operate. (Although it does take more hand strength and dexterity than I was anticipating) My sensation and glands engorgement is all the same as it was prior to implantation, and I can ejaculate just like I could before.

However, currently the pain I have during sex when trying to bend my implant against the curve makes sex virtually impossible at this point... so in that sense, it still kind of feels like I have erectile dysfunction, because I still can't have sex. The pain in the tips of my glans also gets very intense after about a half hour or so, and it's hard to stay implanted longer than that, and sexual activity only exacerbates that pain.

I'm also very disappointed with my pump placement. I do not think this is a normal complaint, but in my case my pump is not well concealed at all, it's very, very visible, essentially having taken the place of my left testicle. I'ts probably something that could be fixed with a revision, but at my age, I will likely need several more revisions anyways, and I'm not sure that I want to use one of those revisions to fix an issue that is essentially cosmetic.

Ultimately, I'm going to stick with the advice Dr. Karpman and the members of this forum have given me. Be Patient. It's often the only thing you can do, and many early problems and concerns I had about the implant are completely gone now. I'm hoping the pain during sex will soon become another one of these concerns that fades with time.

I've heard that pain in the tips can be a sign that you will gain some length.
I had a very slight pain (I'd call it discomfort) when I first got in the saddle.
That's gone now and I've picked up a cm or so from my lifelong size.

I'm hopeful that's all the pain means, that I'm going to grow more haha. I certainly wouldn't complain, in fact I'd like that. I'm just wondering how long it will continue, as right now it makes sex rather painful.

Windwizard, 2 months, thats it? Yeah, just take it easy.
Why in the world are you trying to break records after only 2 months? 10 min is a long time to be fucking in one shot, no pun.
Reading posts on here from others who have had theirs even longer, you said the operative word, patience!
I'd say go for broke at the 6-9 month interval. For now, just do what you can tolerate.
I think you are putting too much pressure on yourself to perform the superman way, lol.

Windwizard, I am ahead of you almost one month. I am 6 days for 3 months and I share almost the same sensations than you, with little differences:

- As you, I have the same sensitivity than before the implant.
- As you, I can't stand sex. Even worse than you: the pain in the tip of my dick starts from the very begining, even before the penetration. I tried the 8th week, as you, and I could't stand more than five minutes, the pain was brutal whatever position I tried. No need to wait 10 minutes. If I could stand 10 minutes, maybe I could have some sex with my wife. I haven't tried again, because I know what I feel when I am pumped, and know perfectly that if I try to have sex, I will feel almost the same pain that I felt first time, and I don't like to give such bad experience to my partner. I prefer to wait until I feel I will be able to keep there at least 15 minutes.
- As you, in a different way, I feel unhappy with pump placement. Mine is a little at right, and thouhg I feel it almost in the middle of the scrotum, the pump, the valve or the tubes are under my right testicle, which instead of hang free as the left, is someway trapped over the tubes/valve/pump/whatever. So the testicle is above the horizontal line of the left one. and to the front of my body, limiting the erection. I mean, it covers part of my penis by the lower face, making it efectively sorter.
- Though I have lost no length from my strech test, I have lost length from my erected size. And after 3 weeks of hard cycling everyday, I have not recover any size. At much, one milimeter in length. And I do very agressive cycling: 15 minutes twice a day pumped so that I have to suffer big pain, and another one hour pumped so that at 30 minutes disconfort is present, and at 45 minutes becomes pain, pain that, after 10 minutes more, becomes pretty difficult to bear. And after 3 weeks of doing so, you see, as much as 1 mm gain in length.

As you, I am suffering episodes of a kind of depresion, seeing that time passes and things don't go better.

But I don't lose hope.

Windwizzard, You are rushing it. I was very painful at 3 months. When I pump hard as in cycling or to hard for sex, I have pain at 1 1/2 yrs. I start sex at just enough for penetration and the extra engorgment from the excitement will get it harder. If I start pumped rock hard it is intolerable.
Pump placement?? Are you going to star in porn films? Who gives a crap about seeing the pump. For functionality your pump placement is perfect for easy access to pump or release it. You don't want your testicals hanging over the pump. In that position it is easy to squeeze a cord when trying to pump. Yes my bulb sticks right out in front and I love it. Testicles hang in the rear. Just right for fingers to play with them as the whole package is resting in her palm.

Hi

To the two of you in this thread with issues of pain and pump placement, here are my 2 cents:

Patience. Yes, both of you are quite early in the process. I had, for a patient of Eid's, a slow recovery. I was not activated before the 13th day, and I had sex after three weeks (would have been earlier though if I just had got to see my wife earlier).
I didn't really have any pain when having sex first time, but it wasn't 100% without discomfort either. What I had for a couple of months though was pain in the other end. I.e. where the cylinders ended in my crus. A pretty bad pain increaseing with time inflated. But never a showstopper. This pain did go away after about 3-4 months.

I never really had any pain from pumping. On the other hand, I didn't push it till that point. I pumped/cycled till the point where the pain started to be felt, and then just held it there. I tried to increase with 1 pump every few days or so.

When having sex in the early days, I didn't go more than 15-20 full wall-to-wall pumps. Today I do more than 40... I remember feeling better with less pumps at that time. I just got an unnatural feeling with less sensitivity if I pumped hard. Just like one of you say, I also felt that my penis was being bent inside my wife's vagina in an unpleasant way if I pumped too hard.
Today I can pump it to the absolute max, which is around 40 full pumps and then another 25 partial pumps. And I won't feel any discomfort whatsoever.

Anyway, even though my pain was noway near what you guys describe, my point is that whatever discomfort I felt in the beginning - it went away 100% after some time.
This means there is hope for you as well. I am pretty damn sure that whatever you are experiencing now is NOT the end product. Things will get better. Whether things will get 100% good or not is another issue. But for sure, it will get better. You can be confident in that. I was not 100% healed until 4-6 months after surgery. Things just keep improving.

As you guys say, I was unhappy with my pump placement in the beginning as well. I was 100% sure Eid had fucked up my pump placement. My pump was not centred, it was more to the right, and it was also pointing to the right. I.e. the bulb did not point down, but rather almost 90 degrees to the right. It actually poked the inner right thigh when I was walking. And my scrotum was so tight and swollen that the pump really firmly poked my thigh. The pump was also forcing my right testicle up, much higher up than its normal position and much higher than the left testicle. I thought I was going to have it that way forever and could see a myriad of problems coming with it.
Eid as calm and confident and said the pump placement was good and all would be fine when I was healed. BS I thought.
But he was dead right.
My pump is centered, pointing straight down (or slightly to the right, which means I don't need force it out of position when I am inflating) and is nicely hidden behind my testicles at the same height as than (or maybe a fraction higher) my testicles. Can impossibly be seen if I am standing up, even if I am lifting my dick up. it does not in any way interfere with my testicles' position.

Now, I am not saying this is going to happen to you, but what I am saying, is that things do improve. However, to be honest, my pump placement was great already as soon as the swelling went away. This took 4-6 weeks, but after that my pump had reached its final station.

So if your swelling is all gone, the pump is loose and freely moving, then my guess is that it won't move much. Of course, if your doc says it can/will, then you should listen to him and not to me.

Getting the pump poisition right seems to be one of the hardest details to get right for an implant surgeon.

Anyway, keep your spirits up. I am pretty sure your pain will go away. If your pump positions don't improve and you are dissatisfied to a point where it makes you unhappy, or negatively impacts sex, go have it fixed. I would guess that is a simple surgery which does not involve replacing any parts. Just opening up the scrotum and moving the pump. Of course, infection risk will always be there once someone goes in and messes inside your body. But so is the case with any surgery, and you don't hesitate having a knee or shoulder surgery because of infection risk, do you?

Finally one word about cycling/pumping.
I strongly recommend you to not overdo it. If it hurts, don't do it. I never pushed through pain and my dick regained and gained almost an inch (2-2.5 cm) from post op in 1-2 years. 1 cm was to regain to pre-op length, and another cm was growth to longer than before surgery. I just inflated till point of discomfort for 5-30 minutes about 10 times per week.
And considering that you get pain from pumping too hard, I would be careful. Pain is a warning signal. Of course, we must know the difference between "good" pain and bad pain. But listen to your body. If it hurts, then it means something.

Take care guys.
Good luck.

Hey Dude, did things ever get better for you, now that you have some distance from your surgery?
