The folds!

OK, I know that A lot of guys say before things stretching, they kind of feel creases or what not that let them know there’s a little bit more growth… with that being said, I’m going to try to describe something like a blind guy, here… i’m sure that tactically, it’s exactly the same for you guys… Except I’m not? so, do you know when you buy crab legs and the leg is kind of attached so what I assume is part of the body? so, the shaft of my penis is kind of the leg “no claw but probably just does thin“ and I have this weird kind of cluster that sort of does exactly the crab leg thing where it just feels thin and then it gets really thick and bulky down at the bottom… Is this what you guys mean by folds or are they just little creases? Like, it’s just a giant lump of extra material… I hope to God this makes sense because I’m kind of laughing at myself even typing it like this…

If I have understood your message (the coloquial jargon you americans talk is very difficult to follow and understand by a B1 level english man in Spain haha), you are referring to that big lump there is in the convergence between stick of the dick and the pubic bone. Yes, I have that lump there too, and I am pretty sure that it is due to the tubes and the base of the prothesis.

The folds we talk about are other things. I can distinguish two types of folds: first, the fold itself, which is only appreciable in deflated mode. They are the 'dog ears'. I have one in the left cylinder, very evident when I am totally deflated. When inflated, the fold dissapears completely, In the right cylinder I also have another dog ear, but much less obvious, much smaller, and of course, when inflated also dissapears.

Then, there are other 'folds', which are really wrinkles. Opposite to dog ears, these wrinkles, which I also have, and which in theory are responsible of the shrink via cycling (and that I don't believe they are really the responsible), they are only noticeable when pumped. And only by touch (while dog ears are noticeable both by touch and at sight. If you have touch a cylinder out of the penis, you will have noticed it is very smooth, like a well polished surface. Inside the penis, I feel the cylinders not so smooth when inflated, it is a kind of coarse surface. But I cannot be sure if those irregularities in cylinders surface is in the surface of the cylinder itself, or they are just the penis tissue that is between the surface of the cylinder and my finger.

Anyway, I don't think that wrinkles are the origin of the gain in lenght or girth with cycling. I don't think that those wrinkles smooth and so the cylinder grows. The cylinders expand, with wrinkles or not. That expansion pushes the tissues and make them strech.

I think of cylinders as globes. When you have a deflated globe, it is full of folds, and depending of the globe, it can have wrinkles or not. When you pump it, it begins to stretch. That stretching makes the surface of the globe smooth, both if has wrinkles or not, but the grow is not produced by the expansion of the wrinkles, but because the pressure in the walls of an expandable material.

Not sure about your 'crab leg ' stuff but i think it is normal to feel bulk at the base of the shaft. When deflated i can feel tubes on both sides of the penis base and even when fully inflated there is bulk there but dont feel the tubes as much.

I just thought of something logically.
According to the illustrations, the tubes start in the body.
Why can't the dog ears or kink start there, rather than the base of your cock?
Can someone explain?

Think of the folds sort of like the grooves in a folding drinking straw. When the straw is straight and stretched out, those little grooves are almost straight. The accordion shape would disappear if the straw was elastic and was put under a little pressure. Now when there's no internal pressure on that straw, pressing the top part of the straw straight down into the bottom part causes all of the accordion folds to compress and fold in on themselves.

That is the folds I am talking about and I'm sure at least the majority of the other guys are, as well. I guess taking the drinking straw analogy a step further, it could be possible to get part of the "straw" (cylinder) to bend and fold back on itself while the outer part stays smooth and straight.

The biggest two effects I get from the folds are:

1. It causes itching and twinges where the fold edges push against the inside of my corpora
2. It can cause length retraction and a lumpy feeling in my penis when I'm deflated

I did ask Dr. Kramer about the fold issue. It is more prevalent in Coloplast than AMS, but still present in either one, unfortunately.
What I don't understand is the theory behind it.
Folds should be uniform along the whole shaft. Why just at bottom? Why is deflating causing a suction back into reservoir. I know I am getting into engineering territory here, so are there any engineers on FT?
