I had horrible ED since I was 50. I found a great cock doc and we tried everything with mixed to poor results. What I didn't know at the time was that I had also been suffering from MS that went undiagnosed and untreated up until I was 57. I was implanted 7 months ago. I soooooo wish that I went with the implant when I was 50. I would have gotten a lot of good use out of it that I can't now.

A natural dick that works 95% of the time or better is great. If that isn't the case get a robo cock. Yeah, you will have a 3rd nut but you can pump it up on demand. I'm upfront with pumping him up with dates and retail friends. No one has had any issues with my cock and they are amazed that after I blow, he remains hard and is ready to go again.

I would like to point out that there are physiological issues. If the penis does not get regular erections to oxygenate the erectile tissue then hypoxia can happen causing scar tissue, fibrosis. A timely implant can avoid that. If one is having ED issues be sure to monitor this. Many men have permanately lost size by not taking steps such as VED

Thank you Gene. Definitely aware of that risk and I've been taking regular measurements to monitor.

I've had an increased curve to the left since my injury in February, but it's stayed consistent at about 20 degrees vs maybe 15 before the injury.

Good. Then there shouldn't be unpleasant surprises for you. Best wishes and prayers for a long and happy life

Measurements and monitoring are good, but are you doing anything to mitigate?

There is some evidence to show that regular erections are vital to keeping tissues elastic and healthy (through oxygenation) as Gene mentioned earlier. Regular natural erections are the best for this (nocturnal erections while asleep plus the occasional daytime erection), but absent those, regular attention by vacuum device will do.

From the comments on this thread, it seems that since I have good glans engorgement now, I would likely keep that ability with the implant (although that may require continuing to take cialis since I take that now). That's good to know and helps me feel more comfortable with the implant.

Hey Charlie,

I know you're feeling better about the glans engorgement thing now, I just want to add my own opinion after two months of my implant, that if your glans engorgement is good now, it will absolutely be good after the implant. However, your glans engorgement might seem weak or even nonexistent in the first few weeks of implant surgery. Soon after surgery, my glans wouldn't engorge even when I was very aroused. I can confidently say that this has completely changed with time and healing. Now if I am aroused my glans get full and firm and large, just like they did before implantation.

It's also worth noting that it's hard to stay aroused when experiencing pain. As a result, after being inflated for about half an hour or so, my pain starts to get pretty intense, and as a result this makes my mind focus on the pain and not being aroused and so it's harder for my glands to stay engorged. I'm hoping this issue will resolve itself as I continue to heal and my tissues continue to expand.

Good luck to you whatever you decide.

Great call out Lost Sheep. I'm still able to have sex about 20 times a month, so it's been my hope these erections have been enough to do it. I suspect though the force of having sex doesn't help the injury I had to the erectile tissue.

Thanks very much Wind Wizard for this insight. That's extremely helpful to understand if I go forward

5-10 mins is not true at all. I am gay and - despite my ED - I have been with 100s of guys. I can tell you that the majority of them have full control over their erections. There are plenty that had problems, but the vast majority had no problems at all - no hangups, no issues, no anxiety, just a good solid erection on demand pretty much any time.

I only say this because I really think we should avoid talking up the implant so that it appears better than the average natural dick. It's not. If we compare against men that struggle then it is is better, but compared against the average - say 75% of men - the implant is second rate in every way. There are no benefits at all.

There is not a single man in that 75% bracket that would ever consider an implant, not a single one. If a man considers an implant to have ANY benefit then his dick is not average and he falls in the 25% bracket.

**NOTE: my stats are made up!

Often times our loved ones comfort us with white lies, or even try to convince themselves bad or mediocre sex is normal. I had a girlfriend tell me many couples don't have any sex and everything else is going well with us. Last few years I could objectively feel my function is deteriorating, but once we started going to swingers parties and group sex I could compare myself to others and it was not like I was the worst performer, I was the odd one in the bunch. To the point of many people talking behind my back "why does the impotent guy keep coming?". There are guys who are 30 years older and have incomparably better erectile function than me. And then I would see my girl having really good sex and remember the last period we we at it like that and even better. It put all thing in perspective for me.
