Hi good folks at FrankTalk. I just spoke to my surgeon and we need to perform a valve replacement for my AMS LGX 700. However, I am considering going ahead with a full revision and I have some questions for this group:
(1) Do any of you have a size of cylinders where you still feel internal pressure in the tunica what you inflate? If yes, how far are you removed from your surgery and what implant make and model is installed?
(2) I am considering going away from AMS altogether and to the Coloplast Titan. Have any of you changed from one to another on a full revision? Thoughts on differences? Were you happy with the decision?
(3) My surgeon is proposing I go from the AMS 700 LGX to the 700 CX. He claims it is a more rigid device (doesn't offer much in the way of expansion) and that since the LGX has already stretched me we can use a slightly larger implant (21 or 24 cm instead of my current 18 cm). What do you think about this? Does anyone have the 700 CX? Was it done as part of a revision surgery?
Many thanks! The other option is to keep what I have got and just change out the valve. Not a bad option and something I am still considering.. but I really like the feeling of the internal pressure and that has now dissipated because the LGX cylinders have fully expanded. With that in mind, I would appreciate any feedback y'all can provide on my questions. My surgery is scheduled for January 7, 2020.

Re: Need Advice on Revision
I have the CX version no revision here. Supposedly it’s stiffer than the LGX model.
I like mine not that I can compare. I’ve only had the implant for almost 2 months now. So I’m still feeling the internal pressure.

Re: Need Advice on Revision
Texasmate, you tell us your implant size but not the rte's used. It is entirely possible that upon a revision that you'd still get an 18cm implant. Rte's come in .5cm increments. So let's say that you have an 18cm implant with 2 rte's (19cm total). It is possible to get an 18cm with 4 or 5 rte's (20 or 20.5cm). The idea that you might move up to a 24cm is very highly unlikely in my opinion.

Re: Need Advice on Revision
One thing about titan is it comes in 2 cm lengths so you should only ever need 1 rte added to cylinder.
Going from 18 cm to 24. I wish. That's like a 2 inch jump all to length as well. Each cm is about .4 inches. If your tips are well into glans it seems like a big jump. I am hoping to get from 19 to 20 or 21 if possible on a revision in the future. That will get me to a pre ed and peyronies 7 inch size.

18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.

How did your revision go?
28 year old with severe lifelong ED.
Implanted in New Delhi on 26/12/19 with AMS CX (15x12) + 4cm RTE
Post op length 4.5 inches from ~ (5.5 to 6) inches. Disappointed!
Wish to have a revision to LGX some day.

Re: Need Advice on Revision
I have had both and the only difference was that with the Cx I lost length, but then again that could have been the surgeon, not sure, but I was still happy because I had plenty to start off. The LGX expands in girth and in length, so the doc just pulled the cylinders more into the gland about half an inch, kept the original LGX cylinders cause they had been in only ten months. Changed the MS pump for a new one and added rte,s accordingly. I think he said I had three rte's. I did not ask a lot of questions, but I notice now that my penis is about an inch longer then before. With the CX it would go up to my belly button, not it is about an inch past that. All I can say is I am very happy with the LGX on the second partial revision. The doctor done a perfect job. Now lets hope it lasts as long as the first one did which was 15 years. But the LGX I can not complain about it. I can not comment on the Titan because I have not had experience with their product. I did ask the surgeon about it before the revision and he said all they had was AMS products.
