Tubes length?

Hi,

I wonder if the length of my tubes is too large. When I am sitting, I cleary touch them. I can feel a big curve going to front, then coming back to inside, and then, the valve and the pump. The pump does't hang, it is like sunken inside the pelvis. It is loose, and I can move it a little, but is not hanging as the nuts do.

I guess the pump should hang and there wouldn't be curves in tubes, instead, they should fall vertical. It doesn't happen in my case, I have a curve even when standing. That is what makes me think it could be longer than needed.

What do you think?

Also, it could be the reason why my pump has stopped working, I believe because of a leak. That curve in tubes, makes big when sitting, bending the tubes and maybe causing a break in joints.

On AMS the tubing is longer for infra-pubic. The scrotal tubing is shorter.
If pubic tubing is used for scrotal, it would be possibly too long.
Who knows what doctors do with that?

Where are the curves? Are they in your penis that hangs out or are you talking about tube part that goes down to your butt. Pictures would help. Is this when you are deflated or inflated? I have a nasty kink in my right side tubing about 1" above my pelvis which makes my dick curve to the left when deflated. When inflated it is almost straight. Doc says it will get better with time.

The curve is an arc. It goes from under the pennis, to the pump. I am not referring to the tubes that go to the cylinders, at pennis sides. I am refering to the part in red circle:

Oh, I guess it's the tube from pump to reservoir.

Maybe or maybe not. Your doctor might be able to tell with a office visit. Could be a tubing failure or could just be the way one of the three tubes moves when you set. I had some of this in the months after my surgery but it improved and the tubes are now harder to find. Guess they moved back somewhere.

Interesting 'observation', oneperson. I have to agree with newbie443 in that you should have a heart-to-heart with your surgeon, especially if you believe the pump has stopped working. In my case, after 12 months and 1 week post-op, I can feel ALL of my tubing. Like you, I had uncomfortable sitting issues for the first 3-5 months...but, I also had a "turkey neck" removed (penile-scrotal webbing) so that my incision was NOT that little 1" horizontal slit that most have during the procedure. Mine was 4.5" long and, when healed internally, it latched onto my pump/ tubing.

In your two photos, as in most if not all of Coloplast's training aids, the cylinder tubing is shown to exit from the 'bottom' and point downward or toward the base of the glans. My surgeon decided to give me 'wings' and installed my cylinders such that the tubing exits 90 degrees toward the outside of my penis. Why he did that no one knows...I fired him before the 6 week follow-up. That configuration, in essence, makes my girth more of an oval than it was pre-op! Be pleased that at least your tubing exits below your penis.

Bottom line...see your doc. There's more here that any of your bionic brethren can fix by words.

Good luck,
Edd

You mentioned in your first post that the pump is high in your scrotum and not hanging like your other 2. It would seem that the doctor would have told you to keep pulling on the pump so it would rest at the bottom of your scrotum and iMHO : since it is high your have that bunch of tubing... My doc told me to grab the pump and pull down on it so that the pump would rest at the bottom of my sac.

Don't know what you can do to get that pump down but doctor should be able to help....

Best of luck

I hate my lack of capacity to explain myself in english.

My pump is not high. Is almost buried into the perineal zone. I can move it, so it is not fixed, but it is not hanging as the testicles. Is at the very bottom on the sack, and I thinks it is supposed to be between testicles.

I have a surgery next 29th to diagnose and solve the problem of the pump, since I cannot inflate anymore since 10 days or so. I have told the doctor my worries about the tubes, and he told me that this things happens sometimes, and with time the tubes will go to back, inside the scrotum, but if they don't, it is possible to recolocate after a while with a very simple surgery. So now that I have to go on surgery because of the pump malfunction, I will tell him to recolocate them if neccessary.
