And another question, medical and physiological this time

I read about scar tissue in reservoir, pump and cylinders, so in tissues of belly, scrotum and pennis respectively.
Can anybody tell the medical/physiological process of healing? How it goes? What happens inside our friends down there? What's the role of those scars?
These would be questions for a doctor, but I am sure somebody here has medical knowledge to answer. Whenever I have had a health problem (and I am not only transplanted, I have been in surgery because of piles, for example) I always have studied (I like medicine, when I was young I was about to study medicine) the illness, the process of recovery, everything about it, but this time I have not found information at all.
So if anybody could explain or give me some links to read about it, it wouls be great.
