Implant lifespan

Looking to get an implant n the next year. I am curious to know what different members experience is as far as implant lifespan. How long do they go before they generally wear out?

Maybe we should identify whether the cylinders failed or the pump? I think that data would give a better picture.

Like a lot of other issues with this there are no guaranties. Just percentages. I do not have the study on this with those percentages, but as I recall they are very good to expect 10 years. Of course some will go 20 years and some will go much less than 10.

Longest I heard was a guy at a seminar I spoke at who said he’s still on his first one from 30 years ago. I said “you should be the one up here speaking “.

It didn't fail. He died of an aneurysm at 86 and was using it up till then.

Mine lasted 12 years, had it replaced in 2014. Wife and I love it!
